Why Stargunner is not supported?

I tried at the Apogee FAQ but didn't find anything? Did I miss it? I really love Stargunner. Too bad I cannot run it properly on the XP (graphics & sound isn't quite good). Any patches for this? Thanks.

I did a search on this forum for the word "Stargunner" and found this thread here which explains why Stargunner was discontinued. In that thread and in some others there is also talk of people trying to get it running properly with todays computers and OSes. From what I recall, its not easy. As far as I know there are no official patches which will help get this game running properly on todays computers.

Really shame that Apogee didn't release the source codes for some of their games (Stargunner, for example, as that was their last game under the real name).
