Centurion gun during first battle?

When I first battled the centurion, I ran for cover in the corner and took pot shots from behind the pipes. Today (fourth time through the game), I was experimenting and went into god mode to see if there was an easier way to beat this guy. I walked over to a hole in the wall where there was some ammo and there was a force field switch that turned on the force field over the cubby hole you just walked into. Pretty good cover, and you're behind a force field. You can't spirit walk out though. Anyway, the centurion hammers the force field with ammo, thinks about it, and smashes the force field with a swing! I click to enable it again, got "Processing Request" (which was funny) and when it turned back on, it cut off the centurion's arm, which he had put in after me. I spirit walked over to where his severed arm was and got the gun! Now I'm armed a bit better and he's down 50%, with a stump where his arm used to be. Did anyone else do this? It sure makes that fight a lot easier and more fun.

I know I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, I died(or deathwalked I guess you'd call it) 7 times, depleted all my ammo, and he still had a quarter of health left before I started thinking "maybe I'm supposed to do something", then I found that room.

That's the best way to get a weapon in a game. I did it and I was as giddy as a little girl when I got the gun. I hadn't felt that way since I got the alien gun in "Redneck Rampage".

It's funny. After noticing the normal guns do very little damage to the boss and that there were some Fodders running around, I thought, "Maybe you have to kill him in Spirit Walk with the bow" (the Fodders would give the energy for that). Of course I would have to hide my body or I'd be dead pretty soon. So I found that little cavern and it even had a forcefield I could activate. But then the boss blocked it and my plan didn't work. Somehow, by pure accident, I managed to cut of his weapon with the forcefield and was amazed how his life pouints fell rapidly when shot with this thing. That was great!

That's what happened to me.
I got cornered in that little room and just turned on the forcefield hoping he would go away so I can get out of there.

Found it on first try.

I was swiching hiding (for my body) place when I found the room. I clicked the forcefield on, and I had no other choice but to sewer his arm. It was a neat trick.

I was giggly as the point I got the supezed gravity gun from Hl2. The Centuarion (intresting naming, is it named by the developers or by fans or both perhaps?) gun is one of the neatest weapon of them all.

Well, the enemy is called Centurion, for example on the Prey hp. Since it's his gun, it's named after him. But I don't hink it's that special, honestly. It's a machinegun with grenade launcher, as in almost any other shooter. And the grenades seem very weak to me in multiplayer. Other weapons are mre fun IMHO.

Just becuse he is a centuartion is the leader of a legion (in Roman times). I find it strange that the monster that seems awfully stupid (stickin` his gun into a hole with a forcefield), and is presumeably not the leader of any hunter.

BTW, am I the only person that the bull enemie with a machine gun from Doom 1 comes to mind?

According to the charakters section on the hp he is "one of the sphere's most dreaded warriors" and his "sheer size and brute strength make it a truly intimidating obstacle". Nothing there about cleverness or leading capability.
None of the Prey enemies seems very clever though. They are all led by the Mother. No need for own free thought, I guess.

I kinda got the impression that this was the way you were supposed to get that weapon. Seemed scripted that way, I thought.

Sorry about the sarcasm, but you guys are talking about this as if it was a secret or an easter egg. It's a cool way to get a gun, but that's it. Also, I'm sure it's the only way to get it since that scene looks scripted.

Fragger that is just untrue. I beat that boss without cutting off its arm it took longer but I did it

I just hid in a set of pipes where he couldn't hit me and just whittled him down.

what happens is that once you beat him the hard way (which i did the first time around, doh ), you kill the hunter that comes through the portal, and in the room on the ground is the centurion's gun and ammo. after reading about all these people who "cut off the guys arm," i was very confused as to what they were talking about, cause i def missed it the first time around.
