\"Logic was such a liar...\" [Spoiler ?]
Hi
I suggest that the story timeline of MP2 is supposed to be two nights.

So it's probably impossible for Vlad to build up his restaurant only in one day imo, even with all Cleaners working for him.
See the attachment.
This should be the same room.

Notice: Even the pillars have changed!

It's only a game, and for a game it's pretty damn realistic for the most part.

It IS the same room... I never noticed that.
Actually, I should probably take comparison screencaps that compare Ragnarock from MP1 to Vodka in MP2 -- there's a whole crapload of examples of really elaborate and radical floorplan alterations that Vlad must have done since Jack Lupino owned the place. I mean, I'd be running around Vlad's restaurant and saying to myself, "There should be a door here. I went through it in order to go kill Jack Lupino".
I'll be sure to make mention of it (both the floorplan changes, and Vlad's speedy rennovation work ) in my Max Payne 2 novelization.

I wish people would lay off the "it's only a game" sh*t...we know it's a game, we just like talking about it.

And I'd love for you to explain to me what is realistic about this game...is it the ability to slow down time, or the ability to heal multiple gunshot wounds with pills?

Well, I myself always carry around bunch of aspirin (too difficult to get morhpine) just in case I get caught up in a gunfight. Never know when a stray bullet might get you and those painkillers will heal you right up. And I also know now that you dont have to worry if someone threatens to shoot you with a 9mm Berreta because you can take at least 6 shots, including 2-3 in the head, from the gun and live.

I don't think so:
It begins with "The Manor - Now", "Earlier Tonight" (Hospital) and the real beginning of the story starts with "New York - Last Night". So I actually count 2 Days.

Another evidence is the commercial for "Address Unknown".
It says something like "...on our sender marathon. Two days and two nights...".
The last episode is shown on a tv in Woden's Manor.

In regards to the furniture, those cleaners and movers work pretty damn fast.

Yeah, the game spans two days. First day is the one when you go to the gun workshop, the meet Mona, your apartment explodes, you go to the construction site, and get shot. The second day is when you wake up in the hospital, pay Vlad a visit, and then go to Woden's manor.

The other stuff that didnt add up was that if the game did indeed take place over 2 nights, remember when Mona contacted you the 2nd time after she fled the apartments, she said something about she was calling from Hong Kong? How the hell can she get there and back so quickly just before you go to meet her at the fun house?

The other bit that didnt make sense was the police station part, there were 3 women in the line-up, but we only saw Mona in the cells, so what happened to the other 2? Even though the guy had pointed out Mona was the suspect, the other 2 shouldnt be released stright away.

What she meant was that the call had a trace forwarding on it, so it wouldn't be traced to her location, thus she couldn't be found, unless it was by Max. Understand now?

bingo. He was more or less saying she was was foolish for leaving her number and letting him call her from the police station.

She said that if he tried to trace her she would be in Hong Kong, when she obviously was not.

Not true. The women could have been grabbed off the street (in which case they'd have never been detained in the first place). There's a lot of reasons why they'd be released right away. I'm a Criminal Justice major, by the way.

Why wouldn't the other two be released? They were just there because they fit the description, they didn't do anything wrong so they were released.
Oh, and after the lineup part I kept quickloading over and over again to make sure the guy really said he fingered Mona, it took forever for it to click in my head that he meant "pointed out".

Understood

But still hard believe so much had happened in two nights... Max must be on his feet all the time... poor guy.

I just realised that MP1 had taken place during 2 nights as well... what a coincidence

Re: \"Logic was such a liar...\" [Spoiler ?]
MP1 was three nights.
The first night is from the Roscoe Street Station incedent until Mona serves Max his sweet-as-honey-whiskey. The second night is from Max waking up on Frankie Niagara's chair until beeing drugged by Ms. Valkyr Horne. The third night is from waking up in his puke until the they were all dead.

Coincidence is that Sam Lake always finds a good reason to keep Max away from daylight.

I'm pretty sure there's a bigger gap than that - there appears to be a gap in between the Cold Steel bunker level and when BB calls Max up and Max goes to th parking garage, and I think there's another gap between the Asgard Building levels and the Aesir Corp. levels.

Or maybe it's like in Dark City where there is no day, until the end. Max Payne's story didn't feature one daylight scene after Michelle's death.

I think I remember that when you start at Roscoe Street Station there's a subtitle saying: two nights ago.

I haven't played MP1 for a long time thus it might be just an error in my memory banks.

Anybody remember this?

But there are no reflections at all on my Ti 4200.

So how did he make it work?

Re: \"Logic was such a liar...\" [Spoiler ?]
They may be using Pixel Shader 1.4 to achieve the reflection. If this is the case, then a Ti series card would not be capable of it.

ATi's Radeon 8500 support 1.4 while Nvidia's only support 1.1 and 1.3(?). If I remember correctly when Dx 8.1 was released 1.4 was adopted to be the standard.

Of course, this is all a moot point if you have DX9 level hardware.

Indeed. I've got a Radeon 9100, which is basically the same card as a Radeon 8500 and supports PS 1.4. However, I don't think they did mirrors with Pixel Shaders.

Anyhoo, on the "Mirrors" option in MP2's graphics options it says something like "not all graphics cards support mirrors". Mine does.
