Here's some translations of Dopefish sayings into the Klingon language from Star Trek:
yIntaH "Dopefish" Dopefish Lives! (pronounced YIN-takh dope-FISH) naHmeylIj DaSopnIS You've got to eat your vegetables! (pronounced NAKH-may-lij dah-SHOPE-nish) naHmeylIj yISop Eat your veggies! (pronounced NAKH-may-lij yih-SHOPE) bIQDep yIlo' Use the fish! (pronounced bikkh-DEP yih-LOW) jIvIHtaH 'ej jIvIHtaH 'ej jIghungtaH Swim, swim, hungry! (pronounced jih-VIKH-takh ej jih-VIKH-takh ej jih-GHOONG-takh) Note: Klingon has no word for "swim"; this literally means "moving moving hungry". Anybody here know any other foreign languages to translate these into? [This message has been edited by Justin (edited 08-31-2000).] |

That I do. And with that in mind, here's a badly mangled translation of the Dopefish's description from Keen 4:
![]() Ha'DIbaH QIpqu' ghaH "Dopefish"'e'. QubtaH Ha'DIbaHvam jIvIHtaH 'ej jIvIHtaH 'ej jIghungtaH 'ej jIvIHtaH 'ej jIvIHtaH 'ej jIghungtaH. vay' Qopbe' vIH Sum SoplaH 'ach Subpu' maS. Literal translation: Dopefish is a very stupid animal. It thinks "Moving, moving, hungry, moving, moving, hungry." They can eat anything that isn't dead, is moving, and is nearby, but they prefer heroes. Note: I've replaced my earlier translation of "swim swim hungry" with a new one which literally means "moving moving hungry". I'll edit the original message after I post this. For anybody who cares, here's an analysis of that translation with pojwI' for Windows 2.0:

OH DEAR GOD!
Also Justin, when editing your message over and over again, go in and remove the "This message is edited by" junk. It makes it look a lot better. ------------------ |
