I tried to sharpen the image and i discovered that there is no secret phrase in it. In fact the blurred letters were not even letters in the first place....

I feel so stupid now!

When the image was first made, it was just a screen capture of what was at the top of the list at that time blurred out.

That was the day I kicked off an FTP download of ROTT shareware before I went to school, and could think about nothing else during my entire 1st hour freshman English class. In fact that list is full of red-letter dates in my life that mysteriously match up with Apogee/3DR red-letter dates.

AR, I don't think so. The Super Upgrades line is much longer than the other lines in your text, and if you look at the graphic, that is not the case.

The date and time stamp of that file on the server is June 21st, 2006, so it was during 2006.

I think you're going by the date/time stamp and just assuming the previous four were it.

I just noticed that for the most part, 3DR has been exponentially less active over the last few years as far as releases go. . . I mean in the early 90's there were all sorts of releases etc and now there are none.

Actually, I never looked at the date. I saved the picture on my hard disk, then I opened it and zoomed it. On the second line, I saw what looked like a W, an F and a final N, so I looked for a capital W in the actual text on the page. The most recent line with a capital W was the one I quoted. But now that you made me notice that the line I quoted is too long, I opened and zoomed the picture again, and I noticed that the end of the second line looks like it has been doctored, like someone has tried to delete "released as freeware" but did not delete the leftmost column of pixels of the "r".

Back then, one person or a small team could write enough content to fill a floppy disk.

Nowadays big teams are writing enough content to fill multiple CDs/DVDs.

At the same time, games still cost only around $50, and $50 nowadays is worth a lot less than $50 back then.

lol, when i saw the title of the thread, i thought it was going to be a list of games that have had "when it's done" as a release date.

Yeah, Joe is right about the copy/paste/blur, but i also slightly edited the copied part to make it more unique looking, through the blur. Like there's actual info there.
I think i cut after blurring, don't remember, but that would explain that one hard edge. By the looks of it i just cut the super upgrades line.
I expected some desperate people would try and "deblur" it. I think this is the second thread about that image..haha.
