I'm not sure, but I got the Doom Collection CD-ROM pack about ten years ago or so from Wal-Mart for $9.99 or whatever. Not sure that they still do that, but it's worth the shot. I think they did include Doom95 to play them. Of course, this was back during the WinXP SP2 days, so things have changed a bit since then.

Yeah.
They are available on Steam in multiple ways. Either buy themselves, grouped... or even in the Doom 3: BFG Edition.

There is no way Doom will ever be added to 3DRealms store.
Two completely separate companies. 3DRealms has no ties, and has never had any ties to the Doom series.

id Software developed the game. And the current publisher to anything Doom related is ZeniMax/Bethesda.
Unless you want to buy an older retail copy from a place like amazon.com or ebay, STEAM will be you only choice.
Even if you buy a retail copy of the Doom 3: BFG Edition. It uses STEAMworks and require you to register the game.

May I ask what you have against STEAM?
I've been using it since 2004 and have never had a single issue with it. Absolutely love the service.
Though, I do understand opinions do differ.

As for running it on Win7, if you do get it on STEAM... it's already set to go. The BFG Edition is completely compatible with Win7 and 8.
And other versions of Doom on STEAM also work fine. If you buy an older retail copy like Doom 95 or the "Doom Collector's Edition" then the source port zDoom is your best bet.

when i used steam, i had windows vista at the time and then installed steam, both were having issues with each other. so uninstalled it, then i installed windows 7 ater and my computer was fine since then.

so i pretty much don't want to risk any more conflicts with my computer.

So is amazon games of Doom will work for windows 7?

aare there any other source ports for Doom that are worth using?

Steam works fine on millions of peoples computers.
What issues were you having?

ZDoom and GZDoom are the only ones I've used.

there were both having conflicts with each other, so i have sopped using it due to the conflict reasons.

So i am looking for different ways to play doom.

Yes but you haven't tried it on Windows 7 and you didn't answer my question- what issues/conflicts were you having specifically?

if i remember right, it was basically causing other software issues.

there was a lot of stuff's going on, somtimes my other other programs wouldn't work and the issues just couldn't get along, it wasn't coperating with me, just became a mess.

Well I've never heard anything so vague but whatever.
Steam is the easiest way to play Doom.

Sure it was Steam causing these issues?

I use Doomsday (keeping it old school with the 1.8.6 version).

Yeah.
And, Win7 is the most commonly used operating system with STEAM. Zero issues, zero conflicts.
Even so, chances of STEAM causing issues with your Vista install... very, very slim. The most realistic reason was probably another piece of software was causing issues.

And, even so, STEAM now is miles above and beyond how it was back when Vista was being used.
They've upgraded and improved every aspect of the program since then.

Honestly, it won't hurt you any at all. Just install the newest version of STEAM and see how it's working.
I have STEAM running at all times on a Win7 install. And I've never had a single issue. Ever.
