Underdeep - The latest game from George Broussard
Don't know how I missed this. Anyway, George created a new game for the Ludum Dare 28 event where people from around the world create a game in a weekend.
It's a basic dungeon crawler where you kill stuff, looks a bit like Minecraft. ![]() You can play it here. Unity Web Player is needed. Postmortem: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/...ep-postmortem/ Source: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2..._Broussard.zip

I had played a bit of this, like his previous LD game. Didn't beat it but it was engaging. Destructible walls ftw.

Re: Underdeep - The latest game from George Broussard
Very cool. Seems like it could evolve into a viable mobile game.
He described how having the tech ready really would have saved him time. He streamed the entire development so peers could participate. But it took hours to get the setup right, and he had to switch the stream engine or something after putting hours into it (isn't that a tradition for George?) There were some awesome Post Mortems on the LD pages, and I ended up spending over an hour just sifting through the pages of user created Frankenstein bash-togethers. Here is a really funny one - although I think this one was in 72 hours, and was several people creating it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj0TERk6N6s |
