"Not Responding"

Ok, so I install Max Payne, great, I run the program, it's good, the Max Payne v1.05 options menu pops up, I click play, the screen turns black, I wait for a minute and nothing happens, I hit ctrl+alt+delete and find out that it's not responding anymore. I think, "what the hell?" I installed the 1.05 patch, cd isn't scratched at all, installed fine. So i'm here to ask if any of you could give me some ideas to help solve my problem. I would appreciate any help, however small.

Computer specs:
Pentium 4: 2.4Gh
512Mb DDR
GeForce 4 ti 4200 64Mb
Santa Cruz: Turtle Beach Sound Card

reinstall it mabye?

I've reinstalled it multiple times, trying different things. I've tried it with my DVD drive and my cd drive, I even tried a No-Cd crack in case it was something with either of those, but to no avail.
