Yes. I think with 2 new games he means DNF and the trilogy games. It's funny how confused some of the news sites reporting it are. Everything from claiming two new "home console" duke games + DNF for PC to suggesting DNF is a console game.

The trilogy could be counted as 6 (3 on psp and 3 on nds) games if you want. The plan is similar to how you had Time to Kill(psx) and Zero Hour(n64) with similar story but two different games on two different platforms.

If this does happen, I hope they make fake trailers for the start of the movie. I would love to see some short clips of the "movies" that we saw posters of in the Duke Nukem games.
Like Sister act II or something.

Also Battlelords are a must!!

Re: Oh hells yeah! Duke Nukem Movie may be back on.
I would go to see a Duke Nukem Movie, period... Look at the differences between the "versions" of Duke in different console games, PC and Cell Phone etc... While they vary in different degrees, they are still different. None of the versions of Duke Nukem I have experienced are truly a negative experience... so I don't understand why people are so concerned that a Duke Nukem based movie would suck.
Every movie can't be an epic... I have not every found anything that could not be made better. There is nothing I know of that isn't "flawed" by some standard or book or rule that some entity has decided. I don't go to movies expecting "much" especially in terms of criteria.
Example: I like the first Blade movie alot. It was not great, it was not epic, but I still liked it and so did a lot of other people. Blade 2 was very different (different director) but I grew to like it also, for different reasons. Blade 3 (Trinity) I liked also, though not as much as the first two, but again, for different reasons, because it was a very different movie than either of the first two.
Conceptually, poorly made or not, most of the negative attitude I see toward a great number of movies (and games, and cars, and books etc) is by armchair warriors who are far more concerned with rules of what makes a great movie than was it enjoyable or not. This same trend goes with games... which is why I believe myself and many others come to this forum as there seems to be higher than average number of rational persons to discuss things with and trade ideas with rather than concerning oneself with petty "flaws" as described above. (Yeah, that includes you... all you non-posting, non-member power lurkers out there too)

The point: There is a huge difference between "That movie sucked..." and "I didn't like this movie at all and here is why... (insert list or reasons here)
I would like someone to take a shot at a Duke Nukem Movie... It has great potential for sure.
Many action hero movies do great even though they aren't... like the Rambo series for instance. In further thought, Martial Arts movies do great also, so a Shadow warrior movie has a LOT of potential as well... but we know about that possibility (lack of) already.

Maybe the Duke Nukem movie will follow the lines of the New Duke in Duke Nukem Forever in ways most of us never imagined.

think Kill Bill + 300 type thing. Kill Bill's scenes that were animation etc were well made and fit in the story a bit. 300's artistic style worked with the film. IMHO.

But the FPS parts of Doom were not my favorite parts. . .

Interesting you mention the FPS part of the DooM movie Mr.Fibbles. Nor was it my favorite part of the DooM Movie. Filming in first person didn't work all that well in my opinion. It felt more like a cheap imitation of a First Person Shooter. It didn't feel like "a game" or at least I didn't react to it like when I watch a First Person Shooter even if I am not the one actually playing. (e.g. watching demo or recording etc)

I want to see a Duke Nukem Movie...

What special effects? The imps moved just like the guys in rubber suits they were, there were no fireballs, no flying monsters, a lot of false scares (something moves in the dark, a character is startled and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING comes out of the dark)... the opening of Doom 3, made with an engine that now is 4 years old, looks better than the whole Doom movie.
The Doom movie could've far better if there were A LOT more special effects and action, but the way it is, it's just boring, boring, boring.

Id see it no matter what. Knowing Hollywood they'll probably make it into some sort of campy comedy movie with crap blowing up but mostly focusing on dumb slapstick humor, turning it into a parody of action games and movies instead of about Duke. Im seeing Max Payne simply because Im a die hard fan, same goes for Duke if it does come out.

Lets just hope they work "Mighty Foot Engaged" in there somehow..

I would by far prefer a potential Duke Nukem Movie (and any sequels), to be an animated cartoon. In the same style as the upcoming "Dead Space: Downfall", or to mention others, "Heavy Metal" and "Heavy Metal 2000". Because then there would be no limit, or atleast less of a limit (when compared to a traditional movie) to what is possible in the movie.

Also it would mean that Jon St. John could do Dukes voice, and it wouldn't seem out of place like most traditional dubbed movies do IMO. I can only think of Pan's Labyrinth ATM where the dub on Fauno was done well and I didn't notice it was a dub at all..

Here's the Dead Space: Downfall trailer so you can see what I mean.

The Doom movie would of been a lot better if they just stuck with the same story. Not this silly genome crap and people being mutants. Thats what made Doom great, it wasnt just another silly alien invasion story. It was hell invading.

They had a lot of say in the script.

If I recall correctly, 3D Realms had the same amount of control when Duke was licensed to whoever it was last time. (Dimension Films?). 3DR has a good bullshit filter though. I think Hollenshead was more interested in cashing in. Thats what it feels like anyway.

I don't believe cartoons are just for children. I'm against a Duke cartoon movie because cartoons don't look photorealistic, and a Duke movie needs to have a photorealistic look.
