Crash to desktop with custom map(s)
I'm trying to make a room over room area for my map, SW just crashes to desktop (without any error messages) immediately when I enter the actual sector that has foor or ceiling linked to other sector. I can't find any problems with my map and even made a small and simple test map, which is just 2 rooms, linked to eachother with room over room sprites from ceiling and floor. Same problem there, everything runs fine until I enter the actual sector with see-through floor or ceiling.
However, original SW maps and the example.map run fine. I've also made few maps 2 years back which had the effect (and accidentally deleted those maps few months back when I reformatted my comp :\), and those maps ran fine back then. Here are the sprites used in the test map I made, the joined sector also overlap correctly in the z-axis. Happens both in 8bit and 32bit modes. Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong? :P |

Re: Crash to desktop with custom map(s)
Any chance of a link to your test map for us to try.
Maybe its your hardware!

Re: Crash to desktop with custom map(s)
Ok I get the crash also with a error:
Did not find a sector at 49521, 35790, -7680 Take look through my Build information on my site as I have some quite comprehensive info there on how to make room over rooms, both simple and advanced.

Re: Crash to desktop with custom map(s)
Yay! As I suspected, it was some small detail I had forgotten about, and your guide helped with that . I had same tag2 values on the bound_floor_base_offset and bound_floor_offset sprites, when bound_floor_offset should have a greater value, so the sectors weren't actually moving to the right location.
