June PC Gamer exclusive?

In the May issue of PC Gamer, there's a teaser that the June issue will have an exclusive feature about the "return of one of the biggest franchises in gaming".

Now we all know that Prey will be in that issue but somehow I don't think that qualifies for that title.

Anyone here care to speculate that we might get a dual Prey/DNF report? I realize that the chances of this are VERY remote but still it's something to ponder.

Like he said, Prey will be shown in this issue... but like it's being discussed in the Prey forum, Prey ins't really a Franchise yet. A double feature would kick ass... but in my heart I really doubt it.

If it is DNF then it makes you think. 3DR is saying wait till June for PC Gamer to unveil Prey. Meanwhile they are really side tracting us so we forget about DNF for a while.

However if DNF is in the June issue then I will be extremely happy and extremely sad. If DNF is shown or released at the same time as Prey then Prey will fall into the shadows.

Guys, jesus.. the source on the Prey page (and GeorgeB himself) have said that it was Prey.

I highly doubt that DNF will be covered.

Just so you guys know, Computer Games Magazine is rumored have the "exclusive" Serious Sam 2 preview in their next issue.

And to comment again - yes, we do know that Prey will be in the June PC Gamer - that's a given. But the teaser from PC Gamer said that it was "one of the biggest franchises in gaming", a description that hardly fits Prey.

I think that that speculation is the biggest possibility. I can't think of a franchise other than Duke that would get a "world exclusive" that's one of the "biggest" franchises.

Plus... PREY IS BEING FEATURED. Jesus, it's SUCH what's going to happen. It makes too much sense.

When you consider Prey, biggest franchises and triumphant return don't strictly fit. It could just be hyperbole. It probably is. But you see Prey and hear 3DR and the next question from just about anybody will be... So what's up with DNF? Maybe they'll give out a few titbits to shut people up before they start.

This just proves that it is Prey and not DNF. Prey has been as far as we knew dead for several years. It was a huge thing when it was first started so now it is back and so it is a big franchise. Though I could be wrong.

still, it's pc gamer and those guys have a tendancy to over-hype everything, especially their so called "world exclusives".

i really do think they word their blurbs like that to screw with duke fans. my opinion.

I agree that there's no reason we should believe that DNF will be featured - in fact, after all that we've been through people should bet against it. But you don't think it's a stretch to call Prey "one of the biggest franchises" and claim it's going to have a "triumphant return"?

Maybe, technically, it could make sense. But it's a manipulation of words.

ALSO, it's NOT ONE OF THE BIGGEST. Jesus, it's ridiculous. Most people have never even heard of Prey. But if it IS being shown and it's not the feature, than it would make great sense for it to be featured side-by-side with DNF.
