You got that right, consoles just became popular for anti "proper gaming with a mouse and keyboard" supporters also. Usually ppl above 30 that have not touched a pc or pc game in their life.
Usually people that love to fund consoles through buying games for them, in order to give a big market share to consoles and thus kill graphics evolution rate. No more demand for pc games = games for outdated hardware inside consoles that bottleneck natural evolution of game graphics and gameplay.
Don't even dare to get me started on this subject, I could write entire books and make entire documentaries on this issue!
To sum it up, the current gen of consoles have become a chastity belt for fast gaming evolution.A chastity belt that gets replaced with a new and better one every 6 or so years.
All that in order to have stupid people that can't operate a pc, buy games too and make the public bigger so that companies like sony or microsoft can get more cash at the end of the day
Thank god for modders, people like the ones behind natural selection 2 or people like the ones behind black mesa source...

Yes, correct me if I'm wrong but the trial starts on that very day. The fate of 3DRealms is on the table!

I think I will get you started, everything you just said was oppinionated and not supported by any facts.

In my oppinion the keyboard and mouse argument only goes as far as shooters and RTS which litter the PC market anyway. EXAMPLE: Devil May Cry which has been proven to be a very difficult game by many is better played with a controller by the majorities oppinion.

not to say I hate the PC but I do hate the moaning fanboys.

EDIT: taken from a PC DMC forum to backup my case

Quote:
Playing this game on a keyboard is torture.I recommend you buy an xbox 360 controller and play it like it was meant to be played. The xbox 360 controller is also supported by a lot of upcoming games like Street Fighter 4 and RE5 so it's a good investment.
Actually I could have taken any thread it seems, the majority were about which was the recommended controller

Not a change of heart, just commenting on the harsh reality the guys who had been there for so long found themselves in. Especially the surprise nature of it. That's I guess what makes me the most sad.

Also, I shouldn't be given any credit for finding anyone new gigs. I've tried to help make connections where I can and offer personal recommendations for the ones I know and believe in, but the fact is they are all going to be fine on their own and would get along just dandy without me.

Very intelligent words. Sums up my anti-console sentiments exactly. Mind you, I own one of every classic and vintage console ever made and released in Oz, the only modern consoles I don't own are a PS3 (I'll wait till I find one for $15 in 5 years time, like PS2's now) and a Wii (working on it). Not for gaming (lols, except @ old Nintendo); I collect!

Re: george twitties
I'm amazed someone would believe there's an actual bottleneck caused by consoles in any form at all. you could just as easily say that about modern PCs in regards to older operating systems and hardware that somehow still manages to garner fanbases. the C64 and Amiga come to mind.
Those however, don't really count for anything, obviously. they're dead, and they won't come back for any reason.

At any rate, hardware is actually starting to near it's limit for this generation PC wise. The molecular limits are starting to get hit, making it harder and harder to design chips that can properly handle everything being thrown at them. Cell processors are a logical step forward, but after awhile we may end up with processor -blocks- just because we're about to the point where compacting further causes charge jumping.
That however is a long ways off, though things probably will get less compact and alot harder to keep cool eventually.
By that point, you won't have to give a shit about bottlenecks. People are still finding new and interesting ways to progress things, and eventually you'll have graphics that are truly realistic. You'll have no reason to even complain about graphics anymore! Everything will look the same, and you can have all the Zbrush models you could ever want!
*shudder*
Thinking about that just brings up the issues of blurring the lines and what could happen adversely from it. God forbid how terrible it'd be if everything ended up looking the same.

And that is the point at which gaming will die.

That was pretty far off point. It was a decent rebuttal, atleast!

What? That's a Gamespot website. How exactly does posting a link to where you can see Microsoft's, Nintendo's, and Sony's press conferences from E3 constitute a place where 3DR can "jerk around their fans"??

Must EVERYTHING George tweets be taken out of context? There's plenty of valid reasons to point blame at 3DR and GB, but this isn't one of them.

That's it! That must be the real pic! The one GB posted the link to was doctored to remove all the evidence.. I thought it looked a little "squirrelly".

Seriously, I rember George posting about a poker session he had with some ID guys once, its a while ago. So, who says that some other game devs that also do like Poker go to Las Vegas and he meets them there. What else should GB do in Las Vegas anyway?

Wider, tell me, do you still have connections to 3DR? If so, why dont you actaully tell us what you know? For an ex-emploeey you seem to know a great deal more then normally expected and yet you dont share it with us. You didnt even said why you did left 3DR in 2006. I finally would like to get the big picture, but all we get is rumors, half truths legal blabla but not the whole picture.

Tell me why GB would drive to Las Vegas while his company has no funds and no team and a lawsuit going on? Does Scott take care of things like that or something or is there no lawsuit anymore because it was removed?

I mean, if its really the end, they they should simply tell that, they should make a post that DNF is canceld and I am happy with it and we could finally move on and threads like this wont appear ever again and we can live happy afterwards.

Right now, it seems like Scott and George still belive they can ship out the game somehow or what is thier deal?

Right now its very frustrating to keep a positive outlook at things. I mean did you even read some of the threads here? So much hate, anger and insults and whatnot and every reason is getting rolled over by blind hate.

Cant get only worse from here......
