Guys, I am having some incredible bad luck getting the demo. Between jam packed servers that give me 5.0 kbs transfer rate and my ISP continuously disconnecting me, I am nowhere even near getting the demo and I had to start from scratch numerous times. Is there any download sites available where I can download it and can pause/resume so I can get it in segments (with Download Accelerator or other download managers)? It's slower this way and it'll take longer, but this will ensure me that I actually get the damn thing.

the bar scene has a nice atmosphere, especially when the bad boys start dropping in with some old song running on the radio.

oh, and portals and wall walking is indeed cool, although i have probably seen very little of it so far.

Took me 40 minutes taking my time and even dying a couple of times, I'd like to know how long the full game would be roughly. That would be my only question.

Okay, the demo runs perfectly under linux.
You have to use the wine compatiblity layer.

I don't know if there is performance loss if it's layered through wine (I can't test it) and I do also have a bad feeling about buying games that are not released for linux, but are based on a portable engine.
I hope this game is the first and last game based on Doom 3 without Linux binaries.
I don't like to leave Games in the shelves

At least I have money left for Quake Wars then

And now let's play Prey again

Since the Xbox360 demo is delayed, i thought i'd download the PC version and try it instead.

4 hours of downloading later, i'm deeply disappointed in the stability of this product. Every single time i walk past the old man and into the bar, the demo hangs.

Now i remember why i stopped gaming on the PC. I guess i'll wait for the 360 demo

Yep, just waiting on the X360 demo announcement before I determine if that version would be worth anything. For right now, the PC version looks far worth it, IMHO, I'm glad I went all the way to the LCE on that one.

I have it, I played it, I love it more then live itself. Well, maybe not that, but the demo bloody well rules.
It's a great demo, some bugs but that's expected. In short, count one sale for me.

Played it. I didn't find the gravity thing to be that disorienting, but once I got out of the game I got a massive headache

Now I'm used to the whole upside-down stuff real-life is just weird!

Anyways, while it was a fun demo I don't think I'll buy the full thing. Maybe when I get a better PC, had to run at 1024*768 with all settings off to get an acceptable FPS, and at 800*600 (all things off) to get a good framerate.

Can't wait for it! This game brings some fresh air into the rundown fps genre. it's fun and entertaining. i love it.

I figure I'm about half way through.
What a blast.
I installed it on my P4-1.6/2 GB RAM/FX5900 system and it defaulted to 800X600 on Medium settings.
Based on what I read, I didn't know if I'd get a decent enough framerate to play it.
It looks and plays great.
I can't imagine what it looks like on faster systems with newer graphic cards.

Well I have to say my first look at it was much like my first look at Duke3D. Nothing stood out as ground breaking but it was fun. Looking forward to the whole game when it comes out. If it turns out like duke3D then the more I play the more I will want to keep playing. Isn't that the way games should be. GJ guys.

fun game, ran like crap cuz my god damn video card is busted.
Noticed one physics bug(killed a creature and it bassically died while standing on it's feet). The Ai ain't nothing special onfortunatly.

Played throught the demo and then wasted last night on MultiPrey. This stuff is a lot of fun, especially thanks to the switching gravity.

It's funny that Serious Sam (first one) had gravity zones as well, most of the things that Prey offers, but while the feature was there it was hardly used. In Prey it shines.

Had another peek - One thing bothers me about killing enemies on wallwalks. While alive, they can stand up just fine without gravity bothering them. As soon as you kill them, though, it seems the wallwalks' gravity doesn't have any effect anymore. That's just weird

However it's fun to see your enemies dying upside-down so I don't know if I really want it corrected
