Exclamation Custom 12" Duke Nukem Action Figure (Work in Progress)
"HAIL TO THE KING BABY!!"

Just thought I'd like to share my custom 1/6th scale Duke Nukem head sculpt with you guys. I hope you guys like it! Im planning to make an action figure of Duke in 1/6th scale (roughly 12" tall) with heaps of articulation and real clothing.

Actually ive made more changes to the head sculpt already. Added more details of the sunglasses frame etc. Anyway heres are some old pics ive taken last night.

Man, that looks awesome. Kinda reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his T2 days, which is definitely not a bad thing.

Keep up the great work!

Say, what kind of body will you use for this one? The problem is, that there arent a lot of very tall muscualr bodies out there. Recently, some company relased 12" WWE/WWF figures for 20 bucks who are really muscular and all. Maybe you could use these bodies and mix them with a BBI/Dragon/Hot Toys body so you have full articulation.

I was alos thinking of making a custom fig, I had the idea a while ago, but I never saw any fitting bodies. It would be a lot of work to modefie both bodies and create some sort of Hybrid/Frankenbody. The idea of a 12" Duke is really amazing, I would love to do one too. All those 1/6 weapons you can give him.

So, anyway, I would love to see that one completed.

Basically i didnt change much apart from the obvious sunglasses frame details. From some angles it does look like Arnie... if you look carefully at the bottom left corner of 2nd pic, the nose and mouth area looked more like Bruce Willis. Im trying to make the head somewhere in between...not too Arnie / not too Bruce.

Yeah well, I was thinking about the angle and shadows as well. He looks like the best Duke has ever looked in the first frame of the first picture, and you don't really have that angle in the new picture.

About his boots.
You could get away with some black combat boots. In DNF he wears his jeans over his boots. In the artwork for D3d he had his jeans tucked into the boots. So you want some modern black combat boots with the jeans covering them up down to the feet.

Dose that help?

Yeah you will need a musclular body for sure the wrestleing figure sounds cool. Can we see a before pic of the body?

He is looking great. the head sculpt is awesome if someone tells you they dont like it it is because they are over opinionated.

It wouldnt hurt to make more Duke heads if you that good. I see no harm in exagerating Duke side ways Rambo grunt on one sculpt. I hope your going to do more of this one cuz I will buy one.

His Guns are plentiful in the 1/6 scale. the thing is we dont know if Duke is useing the Gold Deagle yet. Some say he has duel golden custom desert eagles but we dont know yet. It is likly that he dose carry 2 golden desert eagles. Cy girls have desert eagles that you could use. I think the stance of the figure should determine which weapon you use. Which ever one looks cool in the available stances.

I am watching this thread. Duke figs rock.

Well, just give him some cobat high boots, there are thousends of them in 1/6 scale. You can find em in every online store that sells loose gear.

http://onesixthdepot.com its a good place to look for all stuff of 12" gear, they have a lot of boots and shoes, you should find the right ones there.

if not, you can also look here: https://www.monkeydepot.com/index.asp

I orderd at noth of them and can assure that they have a good service, fast shipping and good prices.

Well, the jeans and the T-Shirt can be found there too, as well as belts and suspenders and loead bearing equitment and of course, guns, lots of guns.

Just look into the weapons section. Say, do you have an weapons from the GI Joe Sigma Six figure series? They are oversized and look very futuristic, they can be used together with 1/6 scale figs. With some panting the guns would look great for Duke.

Sorry for the lack of updates.... I've been working on some other stuff for the past few days... anyway good news is that i've obtained the right body for Duke! Most probably working on Duke tomorrow night... so very soon i'll have some updates. Just hang in there

Yes i use epoxy clay (putty) for my sculptures.
You can find them in art stores .... Apoxie Sculpt or Magic Sculpt ... even Tamiya's epoxy putty can do. All good!
