The data folder is the directory which contains all the game's data. It's compressed in the .ras files you'll find in the installation folder. It seems that for some reason the game doesn't find the .ras files.

No-cd crack won't help.

Do you get the startup dialogue? Does the game stall when you click "Play" or does it stall before you get the option to do that. If you get the startup dialogue, then something else is wrong since it already contains information which can be found from the data folder. Is your copy of the game store-bought?

And there's no such thing as DirectX 9.1. DirectX 9.0c is the latest.

Your specs shouldn't stop you from playing but I suggest your update your graphics card's drivers.

Well, it's ATI who confused me then, I don't understand how come they can name the drivers 4.10 after 4.9.

You wrote 4.1 so I though you were eight releases behind.

This does sound odd. Seems that some files aren't installing properly...

I know that the latest is 4.10, just downloaded, thanks for info in the beginning. They did the same with 3.9->3.10... ignorants.

I'd say that the medium is corrupted and that you should get a replacement.

Re: Exception in startupInit:Directory \\data not f
Replacment would be hard to get due i ordered the game in UK (play.com) I`m coming from Austria, so it would be better for me to get the "cracked one" - due I got the original I am allowed to get a backup copy or?

Re: Exception in startupInit:Directory \\data not f
The problem seems to be pretty clear: it can't find the data folder. So I guess there are some installation troubles.
