Can any of the 3D guys tell us what spec computer they used to play the parts that where put into the teaser, or you dont need to play the actual game to make the teaser?

An I would have to say that the images of the game look incredible, seems this game is going to be a keeper. VERY NICE TEASER

Awesome teaser!

I'd have to say this is the greatest way to wake up in the morning. You should wait until 2011 for the trailer though, that way it will be a 20th anniversary Duke Nukem trailer, and a 10th anniversary 2001-2011 trailer.

Duke Nukem would kick more ass in his 20s as well. It just wouldn't make sense for him to be 17 in the game... In my opinion, he should be at least 21 when the game comes out so he can drink alcohol.

Just some suggestions... I've learned to grow patient, as Duke Nukem only grows more kickass as he gets older.

Holy shit!!! This is totally awesome!

OK, let's see what we've got here:

awesome graphics: check
superb sound: check
great enemy design: check

The only thing that bothers me is Duke's new look (the head I mean). I remember the first thumbnail from january suggested a more badass look. I'm not saying the new one's bad of course... but I just feel it isn't badass enough.

Apart from that everything is awesome, the octabrain is AMAZING!!!

Can't wait for more stuff.

I've been going through and watching some of the little details - the Lizard Trooper using his jetpack (LOVE the creepy new face btw), the battered EDF armour on the Pig Cop (it is EDF, it says it on part of the breastplate), the twisted limbs on the dead soldiers and the decapitated guy next to the Pig Cop with his head close by in a pool of blood.

Man, it's gorier than F.E.A.R! And that's a good thing!

And as to the issue with the reflective blood - artistic licence. It looks great! Most blood in films is utterly unrealistic but we accept those!

The problem I see with Duke is just his mouth at the moment, it seems a bit wide, but seeing as you already said you've been tweaking him all the time, then I'm not concerned. Plus, we won't see him for most of the game anyway!

Something else hit me - the atmosphere. Duke 3D had this fantastic end of the world atmosphere - like Escape From New York crossed with They Live and Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. It seems like this has got that exact same dark bleakness to it. The absolute carnage in the Vegas bus scene really looks like there's absolute chaos under an alien invasion.

Just a question, which probably won't be answered, but how long in game time has it been since the invasion in Duke Nukem 3D?

Big credit to the Soule's for not messing with the main theme, but refreshing it for a new era too. Hope they do you proud with the rest of the music. Loved the Prey score.

It's great to finally see an official update on the Duke. Hopefully this means we'll actually see a game this coming year....but that midi guitar in the end of the music score has got me scratchin my head...

I don't know why a lot of people think he doesn't look badass enough...I think he looks perfectly badass enough...in fact, I love the way he looks...maybe a battle scar on his face might make it more badass??

Besides, you can't judge all of his facial expressions with just one teaser trailer, wait for more material before you start calling for a new Duke "head"...they just finished this last week sometime and you're criticizing it already...savor what you have and wait for more

THE TEASER WAS FRICKIN AWESOME!!! Personally, I think Duke looks younger than before, but if that's what the 3DREALMS DEVS wanna make him look like, that's fine by me. I really don't see a problem with his hair. I will say that it looks better than that original screenshot from way back. The voice work is superb too. From what I've seen, the game looks so good. I can't wait!

Yeah, thats my impression too. Also, it didn't tease me one bit. I was more impressed with Area 51 teasers. Well, I'll wait for the official trailer.

Very cool teaser.
When i saw Duke in the screencapture, he looked like Bruce Willis on steroids to me.
After seeing the video, there's no more Bruce, just Duke.

The intro on the bench is brilliant, love the big cigar and smoke.

Extremely underwhelming, basically looks like a Prey mod - a professionally done Prey mod, but still.
As a sequel to one of the most colourful games ever, I find it especially grating that the visuals adhere to the "any colour as long as it's brownish grey" trend of the last couple of years (Doom III and UE3 engine games).

Other gripes are Duke's facial features and the embarrassingly awful one-liner at the end.

I know it's 'just' a teaser and that it couldn't possibly make the same impact on me that the game had six years ago, but I still expected something better.

I dunno about his chin, but my only complaint would be the way his hair and forehead seems to merge together.

And about him looking old. I would think that this might be because of the contrast of the scene. I'm no expert but it is just my wild guess

Couldn't put it better myself.

When octabrain showed up, I immediately thought of Prey. And that is NOT a good thing. In other parts of teaser graphics greatly reminded me of FEAR, which is not necceserily a bad thing, but I expected more visual identity from this game.

I also hope that they ease a little bit on normal mapping and stuff.

When Duke biceps flex as he works out I've never seen that in a game before, that alone was worth the wait.

Also ppl there is not point in going into too much detail now you have a minute of in game video at the most.
First off its a trailer.
Second the game is still production.
Third It's awesome enough that they gave it to us what they did.

To 3DR Rock on and have an awesome Christmas and thx for the teaser !

ur comparing a sketch to a 10000000x better graphic representative. I think Duke looks f'ing awesome. Maybe just make his hair on the sides a little thicker.. that's probably the only reason people think he looks different. But then he could have gone and got a bad hair cut by some drunk hooker... who knows.
