#1wolf12.zip
I was wondering if anyone had that file. Yes, I understand that it is Wolfenstein 3D v1.2 although 1.4 is out but since I can't use the cheat codes in v1.4 (#1wolf14.zip), I need the previous version 1.2 to do it. Sorry to ask.

I have the file on my website at http://mysite.freeserve.com/cs_0001/files/wolf3d.zip

The file was originally called #1wolf12.zip but due to download problems (involving the # symbol), I had to rename the file to wolf3d.zip. Also, i've tested the cheats and they work.

I think it was a mean trick to name the file like that. It made Apogee's games appear above everyone else's on any BBS.

Version 1.4 does indeed have cheats. They just changed the parameter required to use them. I can't remember off the top of my head what it is, but any Apogee cheat list will have it.

I thought there where versions 1.4 of Wolfenstein that didn't have the cheats and you could ask Joe for a new copy with features the cheats.

I think Activision took out debug mode in the full version but the shareware I thought had them.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Nothing says the BBS ops can't rename files, if that was indeed Apogee's intent... I suspect it was to indicate that you needed more than one file download to install the game.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">For awhile, we distributed a version of Wolfenstein 3D without the cheats. That was during our period of "no cheat codes in games". Anyway, after awhile we put it back. I'm fairly sure that the shareware episode linked to from our downloads page here has them in it. But I haven't looked at that file in quite some time.

As for the #1 thing, it was originally intended to indicate that it was the first game in a series. That's also why Keen 4 was #4keen.zip for awhile. Duke Nukem 2's shareware epsiode was a bit confusing.. #1DUKE2.ZIP
