Irritated Cannot make HRP in 3d.
Can anyone help me? Every time when I try to make it 32bit. The game shuts down and closes. Even at 16bit. I really wish i can play it in HRP. Hope someone helps me. Thanks. By the way the error is those windows debug errors. And my graphic card is RADEON 9600 PRO.

This is a strange error... I use to have a Radeon 9600 Pro a week ago and had it for a year or so and it ran the HRP perfectly. Have you got the latest drivers for it?

Try the latest EDuke32 (eduke32_snapshot_20070901.zip).
http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff/
If it don't help, post(or attach) a new log.

Your log was incomplete because you should try to start the game even it will crash.

Re: Cannot make HRP in 3d.
Are you unzipping the locked HRP and EDuke folders? It won't work unless your HRP and Eduke files are in your duke3D folder, and out of their locked folders.

To do this, just open "my computer", then click on "C drive", then click on "program files". your Duke Nukem 3D folder is in there. Open up your Duke Nukem 3D folder. Then open up your HRP folder (which is locked) and drag the files out into your DN3D folder and drop them anywhere in there. Same with EDuke. Then use the blue Eduke Icon to open your game. It should work fine.

Even thou if i start up with 32 bit FIRST. It'll still shut down. I was playing 8bit for awhile. Oh and I tried to run 8 bit then switch it to 32 bit in game. Still shuts down.

Re: Cannot make HRP in 3d.
These logs confuse me.
Logs:

  1. EDuke32 1.4.0 svn (Apr 21 2007 16:56:55)
    OS: Windows 95 (Version 4.0.950)
    Sample rate: 48000Hz
    Sample size: 16 bits
    [old EDuke32, incomplete log]

  2. EDuke32 1.4.0 svn (Sep 1 2007 14:30:18)
    OS: Windows XP (Version 5.1.2600)
Setting video mode 1152x864 (8-bit fullscreen)
    Sample rate: 48000Hz
    Sample size: 16 bits
    [normal log, but it's XP]

  3. EDuke32 1.4.0 svn (Apr 21 2007 16:56:55)
    OS: Windows 95 (Version 4.0.950)
Setting video mode 320x240 (32-bit windowed)
    Sample rate: 22050Hz
    Sample size: 8 bits
    - Creating secondary buffer
Fatal Signal caught: SIGSEGV. Bailing out.
    [non-standard sound settings, old EDuke]

I assume your situation is represented by the third log.
Follow these steps:
  1. Try using the latest EDuke32.
    http://wiki.eduke32.com/stuff/eduke3...t_20070901.zip
  2. Remove the "duke3d.cfg" file. That restores the defaults setting.
  3. Start the game using 8-bit mode. Switch to 32-bit mode. It might crash. If it crashes, post a new log.

Re: Cannot make HRP in 3d.
Next time you get a video card, get an NVIDIA card because they have higher support for OpenGL.

But i think that it might just be your drivers that have the problem. You can download ATi drivers from here.http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

In the first box, select the OS you have. In the second box, select Radeon since you need a driver for your video card. And in the 3rd box, select 9600 series. Then click 'go' and it will link you to the download site for your video card driver.
