Anybody home?
Is it me, or after the Duke3D source was released, things got a little quiet over here?

'This place' was actually really quiet BEFORE the release of of the Duke3D source.

I think it had something to do with the glROTT project falling apart that really made people lose interest.

Re: Anybody home?
It's a shame. Since I never really played ROTT before (when it came out I didn't have a machine with the required specs, and when I did, Doom was around), and having bought an original ROTT CD a few days ago for 3€, seems to me that it's going to gather dust in my shelf without the chance to prove itself! <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yeah, this place died very shortly after the source code was released. I hope the the Duke code doesn't go the same way.

NO we have also a project and we are coding and modelling. we will come up with our stuff when we are shure that nobody can say: "this is sh!t, you suck" :-)
'till then, no new words
-no screenshots
-no details
-wib (when its beta)

and the second reason is simple. if we don't cry out loud, we've got still the choice to cancel the whole thing, without disappoint somebody.

but dont understand me wrong, the ports of duke3d of iccolous e.g. is great stuff :-D

That is very good news. i was afraid that noone was going to port the ROTT source, which would have been a shame, because 3d Realms were good enough to release the source code after popular demand, and then noone was doing anything with it. I am sure that all of the people that berowse the forums will be delighted with the news that at least *some* people are making an effort to renew one of the greatest games of the past.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">At least the Dreamcast port runs pretty well.
I'm sure there are some more coders at work with it. But it needs time, look how lomg the most DooM ports needed.
