Problems (Sound Issues)
I recently purchased Shadow Warrior again from the 3DR team's website. Which is here . But I keep having trouble running the game my PC is a Athlon XP 2.8 gig 1000 memory and Nvidia Geforce 6800 pro and I would think the game would work. Duke 3D runs fine and sound works great but when I play Shadow Warrior I have lots of probs with the sound. If I select a sound card say SOund Blaster the music is fine but as soon asthe first lvl loads the game gets extremely choppy like super slow and jerky and the sounds is very slow and skips in places. Which in turn makes the game unplayable. If I choose no sound the game runs fine but silent. I was just wondering if anyone at 3DR can help me out with this prob or anyone else for that matter. Any help would be appreacited.

Thanks

Should I suppose you're running XP?, because SW won't run properly on XP

Anyways, a quick sound fix: http://www.softsystem.co.uk/page4.html

and an OpenGL port meant to run on XP: http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/index.php?p=jfsw

I guess this would fit in to, in jfSW the roam sound is the pain sound, was it always like that? i dont remember.

Last I heard, JonoF told me that the problem is MSVC screwing something up in the build. The sound is the proper roam sound when built with GCC.

If you're referring to the original sw.exe & not jfsw, then run
the attached bat file, I ran it on my compiled sw.exe
(not jfsw) and it fixed the choppy sound problem at least for
me.

Run the batch file like this:

cli2nop -p sw.exe

Back up the exe first just to be safe..

Your sound playback should be much better!
