Prey's length is about the bare minimum a game can be and still be full price. If the sequel were shorter, I'd definitely wait until the price dropped or buy the game used.

On a side note, I talked a coworker into getting this game. He brought up a good point:

When you are abducted, "Dont Fear the Reaper" plays on the jukebox. This isnt a selection if you scroll through the songs, is it?

That part spooked me at first, but then I sat down with my "peace pipe" and realized this game was going to be on a totally different level than what im used to. I really enjoyed every second of the game. I cant wait for the sequel...never said that about any other game, ever. Ive been a hardcore gamer for 20 years too!

That depends on what else they offer with the game.

If it's the same as in prey 1, then not. If they offer new and cool features and puzzles and a much better and more interesting AI, then yes

Hell yeah I would buy it.

PREY may be much shorter than say HL2 or Doom 3, but both those games had moments when I felt unmotivated and bored. Levels that I wandered through hoping it would get better.

PREY never had any momenys like this, the whole game constantly pushed you forward and felt great. It was able to hold it's flow all the way through. So it may short... but I would rather have quality of qauntity anyday.

Even if I finished Prey in 6 hours it's still one of the best FPS experiences of this year. Anyway there's also a multiprey, even if it's not so popular...Well I hope they'll work harder on multiplayer, in this sequel.

I rented the game, beat it in 5 days, I work 2 jobs, I will buy the game because it is awesome, the game was short because we are awesome game players, not because of the half assed the game making, it was a awesome game

I would definitely buy a sequel. BTW I didn't think Prey was too short. In fact it was longer than I expected it to be. It took me 20-30 hours to finish. I take my time and look around as I go. No point in rushing through it, that's just like gobbling down a meal as fast as you can.

Length was fine for me, if the sequel was the same or a bit shorter it wouldn't have affected my purchasing choice. As long as the game retained the same quality and experiance then I'm all for it.

After playing through it again, I highly doubt I'll buy Prey 2 on release. Especially if the team makes the same design mistakes they did in Prey.

Probably get it when it goes bargin bin at Amazon or something. Or get it used.

Yeah, I'd buy it. In a heartbeat. Just replayed it 2 days ago, just to make sure it worked all the way with "steam". Had to laugh when the credits hit. "Triton: Digital Distribution at it's Finest"

There should be SOME way for them to release a patch that removes that.

I definitely plan to buy the next one. CE. Sure, Prey could've been longer, but I didn't feel like it was too short, either. I'm interested in seeing how the story and gameplay elements progress. I liked Prey and look forward to the next one.

I'm more than interested in a sequel or expansion. I agree with other posts, it depends on the price. If its "normal" priced for a computer game ($40-$60 USD) it would have to exceed Prey's length by at least x3 or x4 times as long.

Otherwise, yeah, I'd wait for it to hit the bargain rack, or buy it used off of Ebay.

I think that if 3D released a sequel - requiring a Prey purchase to play, of course - that was at least three times as long as the original game, moderately priced at no more than $20 or at most $30 USD, that would be a great stride to mollifying myself and others that are more than irritated at its short gameplay.
