Max Payne 3 at E3 2005
From Blue's:

New Game Rumors - Sopranos, Max Payne 3 [May 13, 2005, 10:31 am EDT] - 4 Comments

THQ to unveil video game based on The Sopranos on CNN Money reports a rumor that THQ will soon announce plans for a game based on the Sopranos, HBO's organized crime drama. The story is based on a report by a financial analyst. The story also reports that Max Payne 3 will be unveiled at E3 as being in the works at a new developer, with Remedy Entertainment at work on the teased, but still unannounced Alan Wake. Neither THQ nor Take-Two Interactive commented on these reports.

Okay, now I severely regret deciding to not go to this year's show Anyway, it should all become clear very soon, let's hope it shows some promise!

RMD might feel really embarassed to see their own creation spoiled to the max by some crappy developer at E3.
Though that's my prediction.

After finishing Max Payne 2 again tonight, I really hope that take 2 doesn't ruin the franchise. There is really no where to go with the story. If they can somehow pull it off though then I can't wait for a Max Payne 3.

You don't know that really. It's pretty closed minded to think there can't be any new valid additions to the storyline.

It is not that there are no real valid story options, I mean hell look at what remedy did after Max 1, but I don't just want take 2 to continue the franchise just because they bought the rights to the game. I want to see 100 percent effort put forth in Max 3. As I said in my previous post I would love a Max 3 if they can do it right. I want the WID attitude for the developers and hopefully no dates set in stone for the developer to have the game done by.

Like Joonas said, that was one of the best parts of the game!

You're not going to like Alan Wake because it has the same sort of storytelling style to it.

If your parents have a problem with characters kissing in a video game, and you call that porn, man that's weird.

My 7 yearsold brother was playing the game, and so did my father.

Well I think that if it was the final one there wouldn't be 2 endings. I think that in the third one, if it's the last one, there will only by one ending and no alternative ending like in the second.

Anyways, we know they are making a third one right?

It has not been officialy confirmed but I have read comments from someone at Rock Star that they wanted to make the third game a bigger success then the second one and take their time getting it right and making it a bigger game. Don't remember the exact words since it was a few years ago, sometime pretty close after mp2 was released, maybe a few months. Was probably in some interview related to them baying the franchise or something like that. Or was the ip sold before the second game was released, can't remember.

The impression I got was that it would take longer until the third game then between the first two and that they were not planing to just start pumping out crap mp games.

The IP sale was after MP1.

Unfortunately, TTWO's assessment that MP2 "sold as well as an average PS2 game" implies they're primarily focused on the console market, not the PC market.

I fear MP3 will be a console game ported to the PC, which usually means suckage.

When Rockstar announced Max Payne 2 I also thought that there was nowhere to go with the story but when I brought it the story was one of the things that blew me away; so George has a point, [u]if</u> they can base it around a solid story.

The only nudity in the game was when Mona was in the shower, and even then you didn't see anything.

Unless you were using developer mode and runnign around with the nude Mona model... dirty boy.

Remedy has no ownership of the Max Payne franchise anymore. But I agree with you, Remedy is a very innovative company and I would be sceptical of another company working on such an accomplishment as Max Payne.
