Looks like my thread is getting hijacked!

Well there's not a whole lot of updating going on just yet. I've gotten a few new audio toys in the past few weeks that I need to integrate into my workflow. I'm in the process of setting up a brand new drum kit with giga-studio that should be to everyones liking. I'm also considering doing another version that's more orchestral but includes guitar. It'll be a while yet, but it'll be worth the wait. It'll definitely be done before DNF ships

OK, to clear up some rumors about my work, i have used NONE OF THE ORIGANAL MIDI!

this is for 2 reasons, first: i dont like how Lee jackson used liek 12 channels in his midi, when doing upgrades, this needlesly wastes process power by the soundcard. (which mine is not verry good, only a sound blaseter live!)
second: i wanted to have all original content i could say I did from scratch. (even tho it is a reamake) I actualy had an additional riff in my Really early stages, which i decided to remove because i didnt know how you guys would react to it.

there you have it. DO NOT CALL MY WORK A MIDI REMIX!

It sounds like you just took the MIDI, removed a part, and remixed the rest.

I can imagine it took a lot of work, but IMO that work could've been spent better, seeing the result...

I used Fl studio 6 (fruity loops). (again none of the original MIDI was used, it was from scratch)
i do my music with that before i play it with guitar, plus, i dont have the equipment like vertex guy yet, so my guitar is done by a mic aimed at my marshall. i am trying to find somthing affordable that will let me connect my guitar to my computer. so far everything has turned up $500 canadian and over

and for me (being 16, without a job and doing tons of homework) this is hard to pay for. let alone find the time to drop down to the music store. ( note, my visual computer arts teacher does some of this stuff for his other job, so he just might let me do a recording or 2

or get me a student discount on the equipment

i couldent help but notice that your duke nukem jam was a little short on bass and trebble compaired to your other stuff. kinda weird, but then again, the playing quality covered that. man, i wish i could tap properly on my ibanez! (i only gots an ibanez ion/gio series)

btw, kinda off topic but, vertex, waht does your wife do to you when you start playing guitar real loud?

YouTube and other video services do some wierd compression that butchers audio. It took multiple drastic remixes to find something that sounded half decent once it was put threw their ringer. But yes in general the duke theme used guitar patches that are more like megadeths old sound, which is more mids and treble.

Shouldn't cost you more then $7 or so, if you find the right shop, I assume your AMP/effects panel has an Out line? Just take a jack-cable, add that and insert it at the Microphone IN at the back of your videocard.

You don't wanna use a mic in, use your line in. Mic inputs on sound cards usually have preamps and sound like crap as they are designed for simple voice comminucation recording, not high end jobs. Line inputs are generally at least cd quality untampered signals.

true, but it would work as a temporary substitute if your pod is broken. (still kinda expencive) plus, im going to try it or go to a friend's who has a mixer board and effect peddles hooked up to his computer, the guy spent a tonn of money on this stuff, i wanna test it out, if i do recordings, its yours to lisen to.

hey vertexguy, i was wondering if you could post the tabs to the double dragon theme (not your jam version, the other one, you did two takes of it on youtube, one solo, one with backup guitar and drums). it sounds really good, and ide like to b able to play it. (cause i have the actual nintendo cartriges to double dragon 1 &2 and they work, when i here the song, it makes me itch for my guitar)

btw, how much did your pod xt cost you? im thinking of buying one here in canada, but my price range is limited.
