What do you listen while building?
For the builders that are still here... just curious While building, sometimes I listen like Metallica, Megadeth or Pantera, and sometimes I just don't want to listen anything You?

Beethove combined with Build? Ok.. everyone has their opinion but in my maps.. you should blame every part by the artist. When I have this neat song on I'm swinging behind my BUILD screen. Then some crappy music gets on and I make something ugly...

I only listen to Blink 182 & Sash! but rarely when I use my computer. I usually don't play music in the background. When I listen to music I don't do anything else (well when I listen Blink 182 I just must pretend that I'm playing a guitar in a concert)

Kef, Beethoven is a master. That is my opinion.

You couldn't care less for Beethoven. That is your opinion.

Just don't interfere with mine, got that?

It's no problem for me that you like beethoven, of course not, don't get me wrong. My opinion is just that I want hard and good music to BUILD with. I'mn not saying Beethoven is bad or anything.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">excactly, that was the original question, not which music is better, just what music one listens too.

So let's just go back and make maps. Preverably for SST. There is a shortage in new maps.

Hard != simple...

Listen to Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) and you'll see what I mean... Blink and all those other bands only know one chord .

Pink Floyd and The Beatles rule btw...

Re: What do you listen while building?
No more maps for me. I recently finished my last map for Bn and since I can hardly Duke with Win2k I've decided to also stop making maps and in a few months quit Duke. So I think I'm going to make some artwork while listening to music instead

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Blink 182 is three chord music and everyone knows that (including the band itself). It doesn't mean that they can't play better. It's just what skatepunk music is all about. It's a skatepunk band - not rockband. It would suck if they would change. It doesn't mean that those who play more 'chords' are better. I wouldn't listen to The Beatles or Pink Floyd never because I think their music is worse than Blink 182's.

You don't need 3 chords for punk either... look at the Dead Kennedies.

BTW, in actuality they are only using one chord formation, called a Power Chord.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Skatepunk is about three chord music - Blink 182 isn't punk - skatepunk is different.

Still it's not about the number of chords or talent. It's about taste and quality. And in my opinion Blink 182 plays a lot more better music than anyone else.

There are a lot of music bands that make technically simple music but they are the some of the coolest... (not talking about Blink182 since I don't listen to it, but I use to hear other bands...)
