Exclamation High-Res Pack XTR
In order to make clear this HRP is not directly related to Parkarīs "official" one (although it is by all means based on it), I thought it would be sensible to start a new thread for it.

I will stick to the June 14 release date, come (or come not) what may. It would have been cool to have at least one boss enemy included, but as it seems, it is going to take much more time than anticipated. Perhaps next time.

I have decided to create a self-extracting exe for the XTR (External Release) Pack which does not only include the zipfile itself.

Contents is as follows:

- Duke3D HRP XTR v1.0
--> HRP with Update Pack v1.10 and maphacks implemented

- Duke3D SD Mod Beta 1.01
--> Alphahacks removed, cleaned-up def files

- eDuke32 v1.4.0 Snapshot v2006-05-20
--> so that you all use same engine version which is required

- Readme file with most important info

This should cover it. The HRP Update Pack will be discontinued after v1.10 since itīs getting too large. I will start a new one which will build on the upcoming XTR release.
Note that you can still build your own XTR by having Parkarīs HRP from November 2005 and integrating HRP Update Pack v1.10 (plus any upcoming XTR Update Packs).

Parkar will provide webspace on his site. Anyone else able to host the file (approx. around 160-170 MB) is welcome to provide mirrors.

Yea, I'll be putting it on fileplanet and probably put up a torrent. Anyone who wants to mirror it but don't want to use any of those two methods can just PM me.

I am waiting for a pc upgrade to get shipped(just the mobo being late) so if timing is bad enough I might be upgrading at the same time in which case it may be delayed a day or two.

Well I am no sorceror and therefore cannot cast forth a boss model out of nowhere. The way it currently looks like, neither the Battlelord nor the Cycloid Emperor will make it in time.
However, I can update the pack with the models when they are released. Other content should be added then as well, however, since the file is quite large.

BTW: Filesize is more like 144 MB, not 160. Still enough.

I'll download it at any size, just as long as it doesn't get too fat and pass the 200 mark.

Well I intended to use the v2006-05-20 binaries. If thereīs a build thatīs newer, direct me to it.

*EDIT*
OK, I just saw your v2006-06-09 release in your /stuff subdir. I am just downloading it and replacing current binaries in the pack.

Very well! THX for providing an up-to-date release. If you donīt mind, I will just include "eduke32.exe" and "setup.exe" (which are necessary to run the game). Anyone who wants the editor can still get the full release with Mapster32 from your site.

Re: High-Res Pack XTR
As far as I can see, the last update for Mapster32 came with the v2006-05-20 build, the rest were updates for eduke32.exe.
I have already uploaded the file on Parkarīs FTP, and thereīs nothing I can change about that any more.

If you need Mapster32, I guess you a) currently have a working version on your hard drive anyway, b) know where to get latest eduke32 binaries and c) understand I want to keep the amount of included files as small as possible in order to avoid confusion for newbie users.

@TerminX:
Perhaps you could create a special "Snapshots Releases" subsection on your site so these can be found more easily.

I'm afraid you'll run out of bandwidth very soon, since I experienced for myself how popular the HRP is. I had 40Gb of bandwidth at my previous host and had to take the file down usually in 1 or 2 weeks. I only got 10 now and I know that I will run out of if I would host the pack.

Expect more mirrors in the upcomming days.

Edit: Someone who download it from fileplanet, please confirm that it works. Had some issues with uploading it at first but it has the right size now at least.

When I downloaded the file directly from Parkarīs FTP where I uploaded it to, it opened as usual, so the source file is not corrupted. I expect no problems.

I will not be available within the next 24 hrs, so donīt ask yourself why I am not reacting to anything.

The only bug I've been found is that, it seems the chaingun (and maybe the shotgun too) haven't got visible "fire".

Here's a 100mbit mirror, unlimited bandwidth :
http://polymer.plagman.net/hrp_xtr10.zip
It includes mapster32, a decent config and a startup file.
You just have to unzip this in the same folder as your Atomic duke3d.grp and run the script. *nix users can compile binaries, put them in this folder and run the .bat as a shell script.

I didn't understand your question, but I understood the word "mapster" :
Mapster32 (as included in this snapshot) in the zip I mirrored and is not in the installer that's hosted on FilePlanet.
