Would you like to see Gus, Bombshell, and Dr Proton appear?

I'm not sure if this characters are in the current verision of DNF, but I sure hope they are. They seemed like interesting characters. If Dr Proton was the main antagonist however, how would he gain control of an alien race. Last time I checked, he was a mad scientist.

As for Gus and Proton, I'd like to see them both but if the story doesn't relate to them whatsoever (and it looks like it doesn't for Proton), I don't see any problems with removing them.

Resurrect the defeated Cycloid Emperor as a cyborg with a bionic eye as Micki! once suggested. Have Proton break into Area 51 (or equivalent) and retrieve salvaged alien technology he can use to contact them and summon them to Earth. Control them through their leader. Sounds straightforward to me.

I've only experienced DN3D and none of the old platform games, so I can't say anything about Dr. Proton. I'd prefer to keep with the alien invasion idea though rather than a mad scientist diabolical plot.

My attitude as well. Gus (the old miner) has appeared in a screenshot and a one-off line in the '01 trailer (I can't recall an appearance in the 10 year-old trailer). Why would I care if he's in the game? The same goes for Bombshell. And I don't have any particular affinity for Dr. Proton, either. If 3dr can do something creative/interesting with these characters, then fine.

Gus should be making moonshine and shows Duke a shortcut through the old abandoned mine to the EDF research facility. And Bombshell should bring Duke his Harley at a few spots in the game when the level calls for vehicle action. Dr Proton if he is in should be up in orbit onboard a mothership that Duke happens to blow up with a Nuke. George should be in the end as the main boss fight.

If Dr.Proton were the main antagonist in DNF, I would not be upset as long as why he is back (you blew him up in DN1!!) and what he plans to do is explained in some way during the game.
If the game starts in medias res (in the middle of things) then I expect there to be some opening cini that is a news story or something (like Duke 2) explaining what has happened so far. Duke 3D skipped that and you just fell (literally) into an alien invasion. That worked and I am not complaining about that.

As far as Gus and Bombshell, I could care less as long as there is no "Keep Gus/Bombshell alive" mission of sorts because those are always so annoying. Particularly when you are trying to kill the thing attacking them and you kill the person you are trying to protect.

I'd rather see George in the game as Dukes deadbeat brother, that sponges off Dukes casino and spends all his days partying and sleeping with skanks. Sort of like a Rodney Dangerfield movie.

Oh, I think I mentioned it before (other thread), anyway, I'd like to see an old Duke model in DNF and Duke saying:"Ha! The older I get, the better I look!" Or something similar ^^

It'd be nice if 3DR brought Proton back as the original idea is a very cool one, tie the entire Duke series in a nice bow that way with "Continuity"... Then again the Duke games have the continuity of the Evil Dead Series (see: none)

As long as Bombshell is not ALYX. I personally think Bombshell should have a cameo in the game, and then 3DR could do a spin-off series about Bombshell with her own special moves/weapons and characteristics. Thats the way i'd go anyway.

As for Gus, i'd be really suprised if he was NOT in there, as he was in both versions we saw... Not dissappointed if he was gone, but it would be pretty weird if they did such a huge number on their original plans that key characters just didnt exist anymore. That basically be the official point where you could say "We really havent been waiting ten years for the same game."

I Crave duke and it would be awesome to be talking about unrealistic possibilities again
I just hope questions like this won't appear on here again as it's a question that should definitely of been answered by now

I really do hope George appears on here more leaking pointless bits of info as it livens us all up a bit

yeah, i thought that they will release more info on the game in 2-3 months from the teaser, but well... Anyway, i hope to see something buy spring/early summer, if not then that big "stay tuned" in the end of the trailer will lose its point couse im starting to go out of tune lol

I think it would be possible to work Dr. Proton into the main idea of aliens since he is a evil genius.
I find Bombshell and Gus to be just people there to talk to for some humor (and eye candy in the case of Bombshell). There presence is negligible in the end.

That depends on their original point in the game. If they were Barney/Alyx type characters I dissagree about them being negligible. They could really help expand the series a bit. For the most part all Duke has ever interacted with have been statuesque "people" namely strippers/babes/prostitues, save for the EDF in DN:ZH. I think theres a lot of potential for some witty conversationalism there and since we have been waiting for DNF for this long, and they are part of the original package, it'd be nice to see them in there. Just so we know, y'know, that not everything has been totally changed.
