Prey 2 discussions
Im going to say some cooler multiplayer(it fun but it doesnt do much thats new....besides the wall thing thats cool) and to make the single player a bit longer and also to give console players some splitscreen or co-op(coop for both console and pc) and finally some sort of reference or egg that has duke nukem or shadow warrior in it.

SP-Much more combat, fewer puzzles and at least two more organic-based weapons.
MP-Far better weapons balance, maps that are more exotic that take greater advantage of Prey's strong points, bots, some other game modes (CTF plus something Prey-specific) and a larger number of maps in the retail. |

-Larger, more explorable maps! Loaded with secrets and hidden items to waste time searching for. What's the point of having a beautiful next gen engine if there's no motivation to wander aimlessly around looking at it?
![]() -More puzzles, and more variety/complexity in them. I want puzzles that I spend half-an-hour scratching my head going "wtf?" followed by the rush of achievement of solving them. I'm not expecting Myst here, but I'm sure there's loads more that could've been done with portals/gravity. -Bots in mp would be nice, but not totally important -More spirit abilities. Dunno what, but it jarred me everytime Tommy went to the LOTA and went around bleeting about "I gotta get back to Jen!" I wanted to learn new skills dammit! -Deathwalk! (I liked it) If the puzzles slow me down, it shouldn't matter if the combat is made too easy by using it. |

I actually would like to see more puzzles and tougher combat.
I am imagining a mixture between the Spirit Walk, gravity puzzles and these new dynamic portals of "Portal"... ...alongside with enemies, that need to be fooled with all these techniques. Make Prey II revolutionary... |

More spirit powers,longer and bigger levels,more use of portals,more MP maps,more puzzles,The option to play as a female,in single player and MP,
Bots in MP,and basically just a longer and bigger game. |

i would like to see a couple boss battles where you use nothing but your spirit form that would be pretty cool. or maybe some boss battles where they too can use a spirit form of some sort and you have to counter it with your own spirit form.

Trippier, more complex puzzles, and a faster run speed. I really dislike this trend of making the player move really slow in FPSs.

Faster running (how U do that anyways???) More weapons (loved the ones present, but need MORE!!!) Maybe Enisi's shield..... ![]() More spirit stuff. Enisi said he had 7 trials that woudld expand powers, and all I did was hit a bong.....I fealt cheated somewhat....... |

1. Explorable Levels (no Half Life style linear advancements)
2. A Better Soundtrack that fits the atmosphere (Industrial/Cyber/Native American) unlike the Hollywoodish soundtack of the first one 3. Earth Weapons (Pistols, Shotguns, Assualt Rifles, Swords,etc) 4. The Portal Gun from Valve's "Portal" (includes Portal Puzzels) 5. Non annoiative enemies 6. More Spirit Abilities (ones you'll gain from the 7 trails) |

i'd like to have a sprint button. i was playing Doom 3 before this game was released. so i was used to having a sprint button. and so i was hitting the left trigger so move faster. but i'd only use the secondary weapon and it'd drive me nuts.

I actually liked the music. I thought they played it at the appropriate times. They make me feel anxious, like something big or bad is going to happen. Seem to fit the mood fine. Loved it especially when Spoiler:
. I think the use of dynamic portals (ones that you can spawn) would be awesome, if at least on multiplayer. Would be awesome to incorporate in SP involving puzzles. Also he DOES walk too slow. I think the walk is just fine, actually, but it lacked a RUN speed. All this time you can hear in his voice the urgency to save his GF (and people "getting in the way" of his goal), walking around so slow doesn't seem right at all. Perhaps an engine that allows for a better MP experience. On the subject of MP, I was dissapointed that there weren't many MP types like Halo or Halo 2. Halo or Halo 2 wasn't that great a game, IMO, but it was fun online and with friends because of the many different types of MP games you can play (King of the Hill, Odd man Out, Jaugarnaut, etc). |

I would say no to a portal weapon. PREY's portals are great the way they are. They are a puzzle, a part of the environment and one thing you have no control over.
You have to decide if you want, truste or have to go through the portal. To give the player a portal gun could destory some of the originality of them. You would have portals all over the damn place. I also say no to earth weapons. That was such a refreshing aspect of PREY, I was so tired of seeing the same weapons in game after game. And true, PREY's weapons may function basically like a regular machine gun and such. But they have such a original look it felt completely new. I loved the music, really got my attention and held me in there. I would say stay away from industrial and cyber type music. Then you would have shit like HL2 has. That music is horrible. But I do agree with more spirit powers. Lets get those other damn trials... still have six to go.

If the Hiders can do it, we should be able to do it (create portals). If anything, in SP, it could be used to solve puzzles, and perhaps only done only in a room where there is a machinery that allows you to do so.

I'd like to see one or two Earth weapons as a reward for the player's efforts - they'd have a novelty value in themselves, because they'd be unique (within the context of the game). You'd only want to give the player the weapon once, and ammo should be rare.
A super powerful pistol, perhaps.

Should Prey 2/II's beginning be similar if not better than Prey's?
Or should it go directly into the story?
We know what happens after the credits...so would it pick up straight from there? The reason I asked this, is because Prey had an amazing, involving, immersing opening. I think Prey 2/II should be somewhat the same. But based on the ending, we may not get that. What do you think? |

I'm just saying we need something to immerse the player. Yeah only the bar was super interactive, but if that's what it took, they need to find a way to duplicate it.
Plus I hope that this place he goes to takes place on an Earth-like planet or something regarding Earth. Tommy saved Earth the first time around, he should again. |

Thing is, for the most part, Prey isn't really all that immersive, at least not character-wise.
Don't get me wrong here, it was engaging and aptmospheric. And I found myself growing fond of Tommy as the game progressed, but the game really seemed to remind you all the way through that you were controlling TOMMY in combat, and that YOU were not saving the world. In Half-Life 2, I really wanted to help Alyx personally, but in Prey, it was Tommy who wanted to save Jen. Spoiler: As far as I'm concerned, Prey could easily have worked as well as an over-the-shoulder shooter as an FPS, but I really don't wanna get into the effects it would have on gameplay right now. I liked the introduction to Prey, it was nice and interactive and sets up the characters really well. Maybe if Prey 2 just had that kind of interaction throughout the game it'd be neat, but it won't sell the game to me based on just that. Oh, and as for not getting the introduction.. Who knows? We might. Spoiler: Edit: Oh, and as for the fear of a cliffhanger, Quason pretty much covered it. The current story arc is completely finished, but there is an opening for a second one. And as for the introduction being really long.. Yeah. I see what you mean. It was an awesome introduction into the game, but goddamn. I played the demo twice over before I bought the full game, so I had to go through it three times without playing, nevermind seeing anything new. I don't mind if the introduction is long, I love those kind of things. They really get you interested in the story. But maybe the option to skip it? Take a page out of F.E.A.R's book. The introduction is interactive (looking around and stuff) but you can always hit escape and click 'Skip story sequence'. Prey 2 should have that kinda thing.
