Not really, PREY was When it's Done on a release date thing. So there was no previous date, so it couldn't be moved to July.

Any date stated before was rumor.

every movie, game, etc is a WID type of thing. some companies like to have a release date set in mind, but nothing is ever in stone. there's always last minute problems/situations.

I'm willing to wait all the way until August for Prey to be released, if needed be. But I do hope that it is released by June 10th, since June 14th is my birthday.

This guy gets to play "Prey" and most likely daily builds of Duke Nukem Forever. Time to apply for Joe's job peeps.

BTW: I got the recent PC Gamer issue with Command and Conquer 3 in the mail. In their release forecast, they mentioned Prey as a quarter 2 release(July on) so looks like they were pretty accurate(though I don't generally trust many of these type forecasts because things change all the time).

Kinda thought we might get "Prey" sometime in June but realized they have a ton of marketing and such to do leading up to the release......

July sounds good to me.

Think of it, SiN:E in May (May 9), HL2:E1 in June (May 31) and PREY in July... sounds like a great line up to me.

According to Amazon it's July 10th. But we all know how they are prone to giving false info about this.

All I can say is be patient and it's only less then 3 months away.

I don't have to tell you that while there was never a specific date, there was a estimated June release on record. Not that any of that matters. WID.

That June release month was a guess by an interviewer. Human Head was asked if it would be out in June and they didn't answer, that was only a rumor.
It was always WID til now.

A guess? So the interviewer from Attack of the Show, with Rhinehart standing right there, just decided that he'd estimate the release date for "Oh, let's say June"? Even more, it looked like he was reading the prompter when he said it. It's not like Rhinehart estimating a June release breaks the sacred canon that is the WID policy, and it actually turned out to be pretty close. Bah, whatever.

Technically, we STILL don't have a release date. It's still "When it's done." Until 3DR or Human Head give a firm date, don't believe any release date you read. It's all speculation.

Whatever happens, don't pull a Ubisoft and release a demo a week before the full game ships, give yourself some space for feedback. Make sure the demo is multiplayer too, Ubisoft just made that mistake with the new Ghost Recon and fans are freaking out.

Fans freak out when the company doesn't do what the fans think the company should be doing. Fans freak out even when the company DOES. I've learned that lesson hard after working here for 13+ years.

But fear not. All will be well. You'll enjoy it.
