Looking to Buy Original Mail Order Duke 1 Floppies
I'm been searching for a while for this one. Full version generic original Apogee Duke Nukem 1 Disks.

Anybody have any for sale. The more packaging the better.

And I'm not interested in downloads, or home made copies.

Definitely an ebay item - do an advanced search and set it to "Save this search to My eBay". Check it often - but ebay may also email you when things pop up that fit your favorite search(es).

Although the Header states it is the full thing the packaging does not say what it is. Duke 1 was WAY before my time and we had many agreements in place for over seas companies to sell the game.

So with out him opening the package and finding out what is on the disk I can not say one way or the other.

Also if you notice at the bottom of the page, if you open it you can not return it. So you would need to do some serious hunting to find out what this is or just blow the money.

I noticed he has phenominal feedback as a seller. I don't care how cool and cheap the stuff you sell is, you don't have 100% on 6500 feedbacks without giving a few refunds to people who are on ebay making life hell on sellers. They are there, and all sellers run into them. They buy disks from me in perfect condition and exchange them for their own scratched disks and want a refund. Selling games is a nightmare. He has worked very hard on his reputation, he appears solidly trustworthy.

Also, buyers have almost complete sovereignty in making sure they are happy when it comes to PayPal. The "not as described" refund is given out pretty much without fail if you send the product back.

I would also send him an email as a courtesy explaining what you are expecting. He'll probably make the decision very easy for you.

Looks like it might be a shareware version to me (like the one you can download for free on this very site).

Also, Apogee's original mail order releases didn't come with any special packaging, at least not the ones I have. They were usually sealed (with the manual/hint sheet, if applicable) inside a plastic bag. Only the retail versions had boxes.

PimPamPet do you mind uploading a picture of the original Duke disks if you have them?

So gillian do you think its legit? i will try to contact him in any case.
I'm aware of gog. I'm only after mass produced original physical copies of the game.

There's also this I can't tell if its legit or fake:

He's a great seller, there's no doubt about it. If you have a problem, he'll work it out. He didn't get that feedback rating doing otherwise. There's always a couple percent of people who just give negative feedback normally. They'll give negative feedback if they don't like the game design.

So he must be working hard to keep people happy. Including answering any questons you have.

It is legitimate shareware. Gold Medal software were Shareware Distributors from the 90's. It does state "evaluation software" on the back as many of them did back then. I have a few things from them (Gold Medal) and Gold Medallion which I mention because I believe them to be related as their disclaimers are almost identical on the software I have from them respectively. I think the Gold Medallion name was used for Canada only, but I can't remember. They might have had variations of the name in many countries based on availability of said company names for instance. Just speculation, but the software there is "real" shareware.
