Release of DNF 1998
Ok... i mean like... wtf

If the game was (half) capable of producing the video that came out 1998 then the game should be playable, say, after some "small" adjustments? Riight? Who owns the Duke license? Can't we finnish the game ourselves? Or at least the 1998 version wich kicks some serious ass considering that the graphics in HL1 are 12.625 times better than anything nowadays, of course the new version of duke is good looking too, anyways...

What are they gonna do with all the material!!!! Format all drives and burn the shit up??? That would be like destroying the cure for cancer!

No, not necessarily. About the 2001 video it was said that they showed the only things they had. May have been the same thing in the 1998 video.

Care to guess?

If you're willing to pay several million dollars for the license, maybe.

Nonsense fueled by nostalgia. Graphical possibilities are much more diverse, unfortunately graphical design is not. Brown/grey and bloom ftw

No, don't be stupid. If it really was as close to being finished as was hinted at they aren't just going to be all "well **** it". Scott and George are still running 3DRealms and it seems they're going to try and get more funds by letting other developers use their IPs to make games for mobile phones and handheld gaming devices. If all goes well, I guess they'll use those funds to continue development of DNF and finish it up as quickly as possible.

Either that or they'll be forced to surrender the version to Take2 who will probably assign a third party to finish it.

...cure for cancer? It's nothing like that. I sometimes wonder about you guys. If everyone just took the time to read the FAQ... Sigh.
