3d model dn3d for jfduke?
hey guys...i used to play duke nukem when i was young...when it was competing w/ quake and stuff....and i usually like to go back and play old games from my childhood (doom, w00t), so i decided to try and play duke 3d...but i wanted to use mouse and keyboard....it looks WIERD with the original duke nukem, and the entire world kinda shifts and distorts...so i was wondering if i can get the high-def mod working on jfduke...someone in another post said something about eduke...but i couldn't figure it out...i just wanna play duke again...feels soo goood.

You can go to the link that zilppuri posted and download the hrp from there (The high resolution pack includes both JFDuke and EDuke32).

Or if you don't want all the high res textures and models, you can download either JFduke from here: http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/index.php?p=jfduke3d, or EDuke 32 from here: http://eduke32.com/. Both of these ports support a mode called polymost which fixes the skewering problem that is present in the original game.

You need to use eDuke with the lastest HRP, there are some possitioning issues with some of the weapons, and some other things, that aren't handled correctly by JF. eDuke is included with the XTR (which is the most up-to-date pack available)

If you want to play without having those weird visions while
looking up or down and at the same time turning left or right,
what you need to do is download a duke3d port that supports polymost.
the polymost ports are: eDuke32 and JFDuke (they also support classic mode)
Unsupported polymost ports: Rancidmeat, xDuke.
its not related to any usage of Hi Res Pack or any other model packs.

Is it just the music you're missing? (ie: You can still hear the gunshots, etc) If so, check if you've got the MIDI channel muted in Windows. I had that problem way back when I first got the port.

yeah, i can hear the gunshots and stuff...but no music...so it's kinda lame, but other than that it's perfect, the mouse is smooth unlike jfduke, and the colors are more vivid....

Check the MIDI volume then (double click on the speaker icon in the system tray). Also check the sound settings in-game, make sure the music is turned on/up.

That's really odd. I get the music fine with eDuke... Try playing some other midi file in Windows to see if you can at least do that. If you can't, its obviously something wrong with your system. If it does play, then there's something wrong with how you've got eDuke set up...

Did you go into the setup.exe (this applies for both Eduke32 and JFDuke) and check the "enable music" box?
