Yes, it is a great game!

But go thank Human Head - they developed it, not 3DR.

There were only a handful of core elements that 3DR insisted on. Those aside, it's HH's game from the ground up.

Thank Human Head for the game. They are the one that developed it.
As far as I know, 3DR only supported the development effort with money and beta testing along with a little bit of input during the development stages, like a couple of ideas etc.

Well, it was more than "a couple of ideas", as this excellent post shows:

Who's writing the script? We've read a copy of the earlier parts of the game and have to say that we're mightily impressed.

Scott Miller: The script has been a long process for us and not a cheap one either! We've spent as much on this script as many Hollywood film scripts. The original story was created by myself and several developers at Human Head Studios. Next, we had a 35-page treatment written by Chris Treagus, an expert in the horror genre. Then, David Freeman, best known for his Hollywood writing workshops, wrote the first draft of the script and Gary Whitta wrote the final draft. Gary used to be the editor of a PC games mag over in the US, and has recently had a script picked up for movie production. He's the writer for the Duke Nukem Forever script too.

I first beat this game on my 360 in Summer of 2006. After moving back to the states and getting a new PC and finding out that 3dR sent me a REAL copy (That has sat in my families house since the whole Triton thing) I can honestly say it was a good game on 360 but on PC its an AMAZING experience. The graphics are quite the STEP ABOVE the 360! Thanks human head and 3dRealms. Nothing like shooting aliens in a trippy environment to help you back into Civilian life!

It's a pity there's not much ppl on the multiplayer... about one year ago i played for 5 or more rounds per day, but not this year... but that doesn't make the game bad, and it stays in top 3 best games ever played...

Spoiler:

Yeah, I always liked the multiplayer stuff but there was never much interest in it. Oh well. Glad you all enjoyed it! It's hard to believe that it's been almost two years since Prey was released.

prey 2 would be cool, but prey 1 wasnt that cool i have to admit. it had some good ideas but the game was too slow overall and too easy too. it is just a generic shooter.

i have to agree with you about the difficulty level... on normal mod it was too easy... because you had that spirit walk and where you died, you came back alive again...

Spoiler:

Then that Cherokee mod was/is little bit too challenging (for me again)

And that leads us.. nowhere... Why? Because there were only 2 difficulty levels... hehe

I just wanted to add, I also have just finished prey for the first time and I'm glad I waited till now so I can play it at its full detailed glory. It was a very good game, I was surprised. Once I got into it I couldn't stop playing it which goes to show it was immersive.

All those portals were great and definately added a new element to it. The ending is trippy as hell too. Great ending. And everytime I think its gonna end it kept going.

Excellent job human head studios... I'd like to thank 3drealms too for producing it. Scott Miller and George Brussard were mentioned in the credits

Great to see some of Human Head here. I wonder if some of you tried "Altered Reality: episode 1"
