Demo syncing
Hi,
I've compiled the ROTT source with Watcom 10.6 and the unsynced demo playback which plagues the Linux version still occurs in DOS binaries made with this compiler. Is there anyone with Watcom 10b (the original ROTT compiler?) that can compile a version of the source code and report whether or not shareware demos are unsynced when run with that binary? I suspect they will still be out of sync, but in the event that they are not I need to know. |

Re: Demo syncing
I dunno but... doesnt it have to do with running it on a computer thats too fast?
EDIT:I tried it on my p3 933 and rott v1.3 and it worked fine [ 12-31-2002, 04:47 PM: Message edited by: The Stinger ] |

Re: Demo syncing
The bug is that ROTT's internal random number generator gets messed up. Since it's impossible to pinpoint the exact point where the demo goes out of sync, I need a build where it *does* work to compare with. If it doesn't work with the released ROTT source, then the chances of finding and fixing the bug approach 0. It's not a big deal, just one of those things that will bug me forever.
