If there's to be a vote I'd have to vote for the bottom right image corebrainz drew: it's exactly how I'd envisage a cartoony hires keen to look like.

Why not try some others and post them on this forum, see what other people think?

In my opinion Keen's old helmet was way too big. I must have tamed it down TOO much, though.

And, as you requested, a new concept will be here in 30 minutes.

Hmmm - yes, well, at least he doenst look like a retard anymore. (I whipped that picture up in 4 minutes, I'm gonna work on others.) Of course what I meant is that this would be his main expression in the game, his idle animation.

Nope, I'm still changing it. So how does he still look retarded?

Since people want me too I definitely will, but HOW should I change it? In what sense? When people say he looks retarded (which I don't think he does anymore) what do they mean? Are his eyes crossed? Do they not like his nose or something??? Clearer answers needed for a change.

Re: Keen and the Moon Stone again
I don't know what it is, but for some reason he just looks dumb, espescially for being Commander Keen. Like Cyborg said, the one on thr bottom right's the best. I'm really interested in this game, I really want to play it, but not as that wierd lookin Keen.

I'll remember that - but somehow the original Keen almost did.

Re: Keen and the Moon Stone again
The helmet is supposed to be round. It's a FOOTBALL helmet. A Green Bay Packers football helmet to be exact. The last time I checked, football helmets were rounded. To make the helmet anything but round could be considered defacing the artist's work. The Green Bay Packers Helmet is an important visual characteristic of Commander Keen. It's the first thing I think of when I think of Commander Keen's appearence.

I would like to help with KMS but I'm not sure how I could. I've never designed side scroller levels but from the great comments I get about my Wolf3d levels, I think I could do really well. I can't do programming or anything like that, basically the only thing I could help with (and I'm not even really sure about this) would be levels. Let me know.

Re: Keen and the Moon Stone again
Wolf3d levels? haha. Anyone can make a wolf3d level that's playable. I suggest you get someone else to be the artist, and instead of square-tile based engine, use one like Earthworm Jim used, one where you'd stick different peices of hand-drawn (Or in your case it could be done in 3d studio max) landscape together at joint spots. hard to explain...

Re: Keen and the Moon Stone again
While Wolf 3D levels are easier to make they can still prove a challenge.

And tiles are hand drawn.

"Or in your case it could be done in 3d studio max"

They have already tricked me into doing some of this for them.

Gits

Anyhow, the wolf3d engine is a challenge, just look at any of JoeSiegler's Rott levels, he has taken the engine to it's limits, and in most cases, an addition to the levels he makes are a real impossibility. Also, there is a big difference between a wolf3d level, and a good one.
