Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 4
When I said if I were to change the cannon, I'd remake it completely, I meant like this.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't look like the cannon in Duke 3D. The one in Duke is very well presented -- it's one of the few sprites that has 7 different viewing angles. The two most important differences are (1) the original cannon barrel has a bulbous shape, and (2) the original wooden base has much less depth and no wheels. In fact, there's an upcoming, nearly completed map where cannons are fired from a pirate ship, and the HRP model works great for that. I even coded an effect whereby the player can take control of a cannon and use it to shoot cannonballs at monsters.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 4
Thats what a real naval cannon looks like. I think they chose the design of the one in Duke as it was a theme park, rather than a 'real' pirate ship.
The one in my previous post wasn't for the HRP (too many polys for a game model). I just made it to make one.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 4
Great work. Remember it is green in the game (pal 14). I suppose because the game concept it as a dead Newbeast (whom species has green blood and jibs...)

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 4
That's right. It is used in two places, E4L1 (pal0) and E4L11 (pal14). Maybe make the skeleton look less human and create pal14 skin.

Re: Duke Nukem 3D Modelling Project part 4
I've made some minor changes to the md3 (use for both pals!) to make the ribs more massive like the original.
And i've made a new skin for pal14. NightFright: I forgot to optimize, please do that for me. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=d...21d66e282a0ee8

Not sure what you mean with "optimize" (I guess you mean PNG optimization), but I will have a look at it...
