Thumbs up Retro FPS Prequel
Hello, 3DR!

I noticed on the webpage for the XOTIC PC promotion that it mentions a "Digital Retro FPS Prequel" as part of the prize package. Does this relate to the Build Engine job posting from earlier in the year?

I can't wait for Bombshell, I hope it's a big success for 3DR/Interceptor, and helps launch a new era for the company.

Yes it does.
Quite talented modders/level designers, so looks promising.

Was there an announcement for that? If so, I missed it.

Re: Retro FPS Prequel
Fred had this to say in a forum discussion on duke4.net:

"It's stand-alone, first episode shareware (Classic Duke 3D Model). Exclusive first access to the beta comes with pre-ordering Bombshell.
I came up with the idea with Scott Miller early this year, and reached out to Richard and Evan. We have assembled a dream team working on it.
Actually a few of the posters in this thread are active developers on the project.

Thats it for now - You'll have to wait for the OFFICIAL reveal for more info,"

The key commands are pretty much the same across the build games/ editors for creating sectors, shading and texturing however they do nice things like completely change the effect making process between them all.

Map making with the Build editor is fun/frustrating/time consuming/addictive.

Learning the Build editor these days isn't quite as bad as the old days because there's alot of resources and videos to help you learn.
