Re: Please dont take this the wrong way
Well then maybe I should install the UDK and make the next UT game.
I say this because it is so far fetched and I have no experience with UDK at all just as it seems you don't either. But at least I know that I wouldn't waste my time because it would fail. As Mikko said on D4N, Quote:

F'it - tired of politely trying to get support
- some supportive, some helpful, some standing back letting me at least try, many just kicking me down. - so F'it - no more posts till game done (just like 3DR, that's the way Duke fans like it right? cuz hey 13 years of we will tell you when its done has worked so far) - account closing in 10 mins or less Yatta over at duke4- thanks for the chance to participate |

Re: Please dont take this the wrong way
No, not many, just Commander and maybe some Steve, but even they didn't say anything truly nasty. If you want to leave, then no one is stopping you, but please don't make up a story about how you are a victim. You made outlandish claims and people called you on it.

Hmm... Dukereal Tournukement sounds weird, but...hey, may be a good mod to pretend that we're playing DNF multiplayer.

Re: Please dont take this the wrong way
Why not - duke fans (including me) accepted 3 engine changes to DNF over 9 years
I still got 12+ years and several revisions before anyone can crap on me for not producing. |

have fun creating your duke game :-) i see, there are/will be some things you have in common with 3DR: - engine changes - getting sued / lawsuit - etc

Sued??? Who gonna sue me?? 3DR??? nahh, from the start this project is a 'gift' to 3DR. I won't release any part of the game (maybe screenshots/vid) no playable material. Once done 3DR can do what they want with it (release it, junk it, whatever). This way I dont get sued, they own the IP they can do what they want with it. I sound like 3DR? prob because I have a very sarcastic sense of humor and a heavy dose of frustration over DNF (but hey we all have that). Have some nice tools I found though. Everyone here prob have visited Ken Silverman's page and tools. Well..... He has a very nice dukemap to STL format (ascii) converter AND blender supports importing STL format files - SWEET - now I can import Duke3d maps into blender. Except the textures are lost in the process. Fine! I can deal with that, re-apply hi-res textures then save the blender file. Oh did I mention that Blender can export to Unreal?? and Unity3d??? and just about any of the big game engines??? drool!!! - but I have some heavy duty work ahead of me now! |

He clearly knows what he is talking about. He's making DNF from scratch (by himself!) after all!

Sounds really cool.....don't listen to the naysayers, I'm very eager to see what you come up with and I'm sure a lot of other people would be to. In fact, it's extremely admirable to see someone taking the Duke IP into their own hands and actually getting something made for a change. I definitely say "go for it", and wish you the best of luck. PS: Try recruiting people to help you, I'm willing to bet a lot of people would be thrilled to be part of your project. |

Even something basic as a layout or something. example: E1L1 as a mesh imported into MAX. Untextured.

Just as I thought, this project is full of fail.
Even I have done more towards it with out even trying nor wanting to participate. As I know it would pointless.

Good thing I have always stated the finished game would be given to 3DR and T2. They can sell it and keep the $$$. This is just to get a new Duke FPS game out there. |

Re: Please dont take this the wrong way
He hasn't even done anything, first he said he was using the UDK, now he keeps changing engines more than 3DR does.
Also haven't seen a single picture or video for any development made. In fact I probably have done 100% more than he has just by importing the E1L1 mesh into 3DS Max. In other words, this project is fail even without the intervention of 3DR.
