I know most of you think EVERYTHING is a spoiler, so don't read this then eventhough it has nothing to do with the story.

Max get's bloody as you play when he get's hurt, so it's not really anything that necessarily follows the story, although it may follow him into cutscenes, not sure. But the sniping in the beginning of the trailer won't be related I'm pretty sure.

Now that you mention it, it could be. The bullet that shoots him in the head does look like a dummy. If you pause at the spot where the bullet is hurdling towards Max you can see that it doesn't have a sharp tip to it and it looks black like it was made out of rubber. But then again I know nothing about guns or ammo, so I could be wrong.

Pretty cool that games have gotten to the point where you can distinguish each individual bullet

Why the hell would they shoot him in the JAW with a rubber bullet?! They're intended for nonlethal crowd control, but if you shoot someone in the head or neck with one, it can still kill him.

Maybe the bad guy was a really bad shot.

Like everybody else has been saying.. I have to agree, its an awesome trailer. I was disappointed with the first set of gameplay clips and the first trailer, but the latest stuff its just awesome. And I must say this new trailer makes the hairs stand up all over my body.. I've watched it about 10 times today since i downloaded it. Very nice!

Yeah, well Breed is another game that I am looking forward to getting, but it might not come to the States until Feb. 2004 while it's getting released in the UK in Nov. 2003.
I'd say waiting only a week for Max Payne 2 to get to you is a much less wait compared to other games (like Breed).

Without trying to get off topic, that was a beta demo. And I think the game will be great. Try downloading a mod for the beta demo where you can fly and drive vehicles. (Yes, people have modded the beta demo!! The scripting language lets you do a lot.)

I've watched both of the trailers several times and I am in awe! Excellent job!

I admit had some misgivings when I first saw the new model for Max, but I'm glad to see that I was wrong. It looks like it will be just as gritty and intense as the last game.

I can hardly wait to play it.

Okay, that's way too much! Anyway why does the WMV version have some yellow colour distortion on the left side of the screen?

Has anyone looked at the hi-res screenshots on the rockstar site? 1600x1200 and the amount of detail is incredible.
