I've got DVD Criterion of Videodrome but I'd consider rebuying on bluray when I get a PS3. Of course I'll have to check out what retarded region locking exists on Bluray first I guess.

I just bought Season 6 of The Simpsons. In my opinion that season has some of the best episodes of the whole entire show. All i need now is Season 7 and i will have nearly all the best seasons of the The Simpsons.

I think 4 - 6 are probably most of my favourites.

In that case, you can probably forget about getting a PS3 for that purpose. Blu-ray is region coded for three regions and because of all the firmware BS, it's difficult to get a modded player that doesn't break after the next firmware update...as it is, the only pre-modded players cost about as much as a PS3 anyway and there's currently no way to mod any available players yourself, they all require hardware modifications to get around it.
If you want region free blu-ray playback, use a PC with BD-ROM in it. Bypassing region lock is ridicilously easy on the PC, you don't even have to bother with the firmware mods like you had to back in the DVD days...

The cover and the disc are for these box sets are really lame, but considering this is the first time we get the entire original series, unedited and all, I wouldn't care if they were packaged in brown cardboard...

I've been systematically selling my lesser favorite dvd's & blu-ray's since becoming a netflix member.

Netflix is awesome. Movies to my house in two days + a ton of content streaming in HD to my tv.

Btw - I recommend watching Ip Man as the best martial arts movie I've ever seen. Ip Man is on netflix instant.

I don't think Netflix has the selection here in Canada that there is in the US. Probably hold off until they have a wider selection. Tried searching the usual X-Files, Stargate, Futurama, etc, but it says they aren't available.

Maybe you should look again. I just browsed netflix.ca catalog and they have X-Files seasons 1-9 on streaming and by disk.

Nope still says it's unavailable. Maybe I have to be a member or free trial for it to show up. At any rate, I already have them all.

Edit: Just signed up for the trial for grins, and nope, it's still not available. Probably only in certain countries. Anyways, I just canceled for now.

I got one too, w/ cheap replica of The One Ring. Nothing evokes feelings of confidence like "The One Ring Made in China".

I have just bought The Simpsons season 7 which takes my collection from seasons 6-9 (IMO they are the best seasons) and the complete Daria series.

I have my eye on Invader Zim season 1 and season 2 when it comes out early next month.

Come on Nickelodeon... Angry Beavers and Rocko's Modern Life would be instabuys for me.

Ok... doing some research, i discovered that some DVD company has got the rights to publish some Nickelodeon shows, Rocko's Modern Life Season 1 is already available, Angry Beavers Seasons 1 and 2 are coming next month with a bunch of other Nicktoons coming later this year.

The thing that majorly sucks, is that its region 1 only so far and being in Australia which is region 4.

That's BS, there shouldn't be region locking on DVDs, that's why DVD piracy is so rife.

Its a good movie, but something I watch from time to time.
But compared to Super Mario Bros. The Movie (which I got recently), The 5th Element is better than it.

Picked up a new release of Futurama seasons 1 & 2 on DVD. The new version has fixed some of the DVD master issues which I had noticed in the first and possibly second season when I first got it in 2003.

Unlike The Simpsons which was shot on film (season 1-10 I think), Futurama was not shot on film, so unless they rendered everything at 1080p to begin with, it probably won't see a Blu-ray release. It was supposed to be HD initially I was told.
