In May 2009 DNF was only 6 months away from being completed. The Relese should have been March 2010. And according to the court papers they only needed 6 more million to get DNF done! 6 million for the Prey IP is not much!

Toot toot... I think that is the sound of the hype train leaving the station and heading for derailment when the screenshot for D-Day turns out to be a fan mock-up and then the eeire sound of silence for another year of duke induced dissapointment.

Call it a hunch.

Why would Scott Miller upload a fan mock up? (Scott Miller being behind that fan page is no more in dispute than this being the forums of the official 3D Realms website).

While it is reported that material on Scott Miller's Facebook page can verify that it is Scott Miller writing, and clearly behind the Duke Nukem fanpage, perhaps it would be good with an "official" statement, or at least have the webmaster post links to the fanpage on 3drealms.com's frontpage.

Wow, that fan sure did an awesome mock-up!

I wonder where he got the Cycloid model from and the EDF trooper and the Ripper gun and the stadium map from!

It's one thing to get irritated with the hype. But it seems people are also going blind to keep from getting hyped.

Seems legit, due to the fact it's on an official site. But linking it to DNF may be a far stretch...

That's never stopped people around here before. They're pretty much never right, either.

hahaha. And for the record, before I get asked, I have no idea what's going on. Since I left 3DR, I've tried to stay away from finding out what they're doing. With the Take 2 lawsuit out there, the less I know, the better. I don't want to be involved with a lawsuit, thank you very much.

Being that the assets are pulled straight from DNF I don't see how it is a stretch at all.

Ever played Bioshock and Borderlands? Lifted assets galore, and by the same developers.

I agree, the assets look the same, but with the information at hand, I wouldn't say it's DNF at all, especially lawsuit pending.

That said, I believe it will be revealed to be DNF. But I am going off of what info is available now.

Huh? Well first of all, Bioshock was by Irrational which is 2KBoston/2KAustrailia. Borderlands was by Gearbox. Not the same developer.

Have you guys played the games?

They both use the unreal engine.

Borderlands could very well be Bioshock's sequel.

They were going to spend $1 million per month to finish the game? No wonder T2 balked.

WOW... putting it that way, it does seem a bit excessive. $500,000 on DNF, $500,000 on beer, blow and hookers.

DNF only required $4-$6 mil to complete. Prey would probably go for jut about that amount.

"Assets" means pieces of art (textures, models, animations, etc), sound, data such as level geometry, etc.

Bioshock and Borderlands share code (aka Unreal Engine) but aside from a couple of engine critical assets required for the raw engine before you make a game with it, I assure you they don't share assets.

I don't. It sold quite a few copies on 360. It's no billion dollar IP like GTA or COD, but it's valuable IP none the less.

In all the past years we've got some kind of christmas present.
last one is the posing screenshot of the enemies.

think about (not seriously gonna happen) stuff like:

o new screenshots
o another engine switch ;-)
o new trailer
o a demo
o t2 and 3drealms joined forces instead having trouble anymore.
o duke nukem movie anounced
...
o Let's say D-Day means "DONE".
D in when it's DONE.
gone gold.

Oh, don't forget the release date anouncement:
It's already sayed in Duke's one words: "Are you waiting for christmas?"

o D for download?
Maybe is gog.com or games for windows (microsoft) or steam
and you could download it then?

o Duke's DNF will drop his pants and are going to be "OpenSourced"

WE WILL SEE.
