Re: 256 Bmp?
Depending on what software you use you just need to reduce the color depth from 16bit to 8bit - meaning that you use a palette version with 256 colors only. For editart you should use the internal palette of duke or you might get problems.
Open a saved picture from editart in you image editing program - save the palette and load it on your other graphic. Or you just use one of the new builds of Duke. With the HRP for example you don't need to worry about such a low color depth any more ![]() |

Re: 256 Bmp?
Do you use DukeResArt? I also use it and I had problem with paint. I saved images as 256 color images. Duke palette and windows palette are different, so I had one more problem - lack of colors when adapting image colors. But I now use Wally and Duke palette in windows format (Unfortunatelly, rtcm.thecomitatus.com where I got palette, is down right now) and I import my images to ART files without any problems.

Re: 256 Bmp?
What for? Palettes are saved together with the imagefile. Just use the palette from within an exported, already existing picture. You can use anything from the game you're trying to mod for.

Re: 256 Bmp?
If you use irfanview it's only a matter of going to image>decrease color depth. Dukeres really is incredibly handy when it comes to importing stuff - editart always messes my stuff up (or refuses to import it) but opening a dukepal'd image with irfanview and pasting it in dukeres gives perfect results.
