Is there not one custom Episode worth playing ?

Hi,

After finishing Duke3d with HRP4 (awesome) and the fourth episode.
And Duke it out in DC which gave me headache.

I ask myself, after 12 years - was there not one single custom episode ever made, worth playing ?

Because i cannot find anything, but really nothing..

Personally, I really like the FM2X episode(s) by Fernando Márquez (New York Rebellion & Orbital Oblivion). They are really well designed and not overloaded with crap, almost as if they could have been part of a 3DR addon.

ADG episode. The best custom episode ever made imo. You can play it with HRP since theres no custom art in this episode.

Some of these are full on total conversions or mods, and are not compatible with the HRP.

Yeah... Starship Troopers gets my vote too...

The Final Confrontation was also pretty good.

You must not have looked very hard because I found about 175 TC's/Episodes. Most are worth playing at least once.

one of the first user episodes I played. aside from the rather boring first level, this is some really good stuff. especially levels 3, 5, and 6. (3 is just plain fun for how awesome it is fighting on a huge train with AMAZING progression through the level. 5 is fun, albeit confusing, for all the neat things stuck into a huge harbor area with rather nonlinear progression.)

First one I thought of.. Gonna have to replay that one at some point. I remember a huge pyramid-like thing in the last level but that's about it.

I didn't mind the first episode, but the rest was somewhat forgettable imo. Still, it's worth playing and deciding for yourself.

I just tried it, and it seems really, really, really hard. I actually quit it was so hard. Did anyone else think this? So much for piece of cake!

Yeah, DukeZone2 was pretty hard to start with on each episode, but got considerably easier as it went through though. I think that was due to having a decent weapons and not just a pistol.

I think Duke Zone, Duke Zone 2, and Duke Xtreme are all pretty bad.

Duke Xtreme is AWFUL. I just saw the first two levels and then delete the whole thing.
I mean, I bet even a shrimp making a usermap will come with something better than THAT.
