Shadow Warrior 2 vs Return of the Triad

I really loved both these games, for me it was two different eras:

ROTT smashed DOOM in so Many ways.

SW had the greatest theme and best use of weapons other than a gun compared to games of it's era.

I see alot of call for a new Shadow Warrior, but I would much prefer a new Rise of the Triad - so a poll:

As I never played ROTT all the way through (sharewared it off my Duke3D disk). . .I chose SW.
Of course, word is SW is not a beloved game of the powers that be in 3DR. . .but you never know. . .

Only played the Shadow Warrior game demo, maybe a Deus Ex similar kind of way of fighting, what with the same stealth. Did Shadow Warrior have stealth or rise of the Triad. Both games are set in Japan ?

Shadow Warrior didn't use stealth. . . not really. Lo Wang wasn't much of a ninja like you get in more modern FPS. Although, he does like sword, its a personal weapon.

Fast-1, Shadow Warrior is pretty much the same as Duke3d, with some vehicles too. And more keys. And anime girls. And a nuke launcher.

I loved SW more than RoTT so voting for it... But, if you had asked me what would you love to see a sequel of, AFTER SW, then it would be RoTT for sure.

Return of the Traid would be the sequel name.

I voted for ROTT, although the sequel version I'm thinking of wouldn't entice fans very much. I'm thinking of a more dark, serious version of the game; like a mix of FEAR and the concept behind Jericho - a tactical, squad based, paranormal fps. A remake of the first game, the HUNT team investigates the island monasatary where the death cult is residing and finds more than they expected.

The Nuke Launcher was the best use of alternate firing modes ever. Out does any of the modern games. . .

That was something else about Shadow Warrior, it had alternate firing modes and true level over level and so much more with the limitations of the Build Engine. Ken Silverman out did himself with that gem. . . (until he worked out his voxel engine that is actually very cool).

I have to vote for SW2, since I played Shadow Warrior more than I did RoTT. Too bad it'll never happen though.

Both, but I had to vote for ROTT. Since SW is bit on DNF territory with that humour and all. Both are great IP's with potential, even today.

i liked the shareware of ROTT, but shadow warrior was just so damn funny. im sorry, but if a sw2 lived up to that, ide be pissing myself laughing playing it.

I love both, but I voted ROTT 2. It's got better weapons, darker environments, and it's just overall pretty awesome. And that's coming from someone who has only beaten the shareware version.

I voted for Rise of the Triad because we all know Shadow Warrior really is extremely unlikely, while ROTT has a clear title, so to speak.
When I actually consider a ROTT 2, I consider the size and depth of Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I think Return to Castle Wolfenstein was one of the best FPS's for the PS2 (for single player anyway). It was dark and had enough depth for me and about a MILLION other people.
When I think in the context of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, I can see where a modern Rise of the Triad could blow us away... and the title is readily available.

People should know that the cliffhanger at the end of SW is... err... made right in the Wanton Destruction addon. Unless that is retconned or adjustments made to the plot (an imposter? an android dummy?), of course...
