And that's good. So there is no "OMG, DNF WILL BE OUT SOON!!"

The true believers know that DNF have more than testrooms.

So that was basically the verification that DNF is alive. They want to wait before the start of the hype.

I guess this mess with Gamasutra has proven George correct about having a media blackout. Then again, I think George is probably from the "any news is good news" school when it comes to today's DNF traffic.

Wasn't that 500.000$ for advertising, and not a release..?
I'm pretty sure it was advertising... (the exact word was "Commercial release" i think)

Commercial release is a release of a product that all the people can buy (if they have the money). A different type of release (of which I do not know the name ) is a release to for example take 2 to let them test it.

Since 3DR has full control of DNF, i don't think anyone could "buy" a dicision for 3DR, to show anything...
That would go against thier "WID" policy too...

Agreed. But, on the other side, media wants DNF badly. They know that the game is in very advanced status and want a coverage about it.

Too bad for Prey. Man, that's an AAA-title! And they don't want it.

But they could pay more if the game will be out soon. It's not buying or something. It's just for better motivation to work on the nights and weekends.

OF course.. If the game is nearly done, it's likely that they'd want some advertising for it... So why not getting payed for it too..?!

But currently, they don't seem to be ready at all... So i understand why they would refuse to start hyping anyhthing just yet...

They may be. Or may be not. We don't know. It's better they make impression to all that they are not. So there'll be less 'DNF for Prey coverage' and less hyping.

Whats about the small article in PCGamer called "The Duke Report". Its a timeline of the DNF going from 1997 to July 2006. The interesting part is in July 2006: "Prey is released" (this is for sure a fact)...and furthermore: "The latest offical word on Duke Nukem Forever: an anticipated 2007 release."
okay lets assume some facts: PCGamer had known a few months before Prey has gone gold, when it will be released. The only explanation for that i can imagine is that HH or 3dr had told PCGamer in which month Prey will be released. But how 3dr/HH could know that such early and so precise?! this is very scaring in a positive way..... This fact overall speeks for 3dr's top game-develop-management.
Now i'll come back to topic....If PCGamer known such things like i mentioned abouth, it speeks for their authenticity, i guess. So lets hope we will hear some official words on DNF this month..! ....but... after all these years i will not be surprised if also this month nothing happens!...

Who says that there is still a alien body in area 51?! Maybe there was never a alien who stranded with its ufo in nevada (You have to believe me cause i have the mighty Men in Black remembrance-eliminator and i applied it with all of you )

Imagine If there is no ufo or alien body in area 51, the only remaining mystery of mankind is the mysterious Duke Nukem Forever

All these years I had a quite fast pc, had pretty much sparte time and earned enough money for things like games, hardware etc but no I am just about to buy a new car (because my old one is starting to fall apart), so I hardly will have any money left the next couple of months, the study-stuff is getting tougher and tougher and my pc is getting old.
Yeah this would be just the right time to announce/release Duke Nukem Forever...

I know what you mean DK2000. I'm gonna be going to college in the Fall of 2007. I'm hoping DNF is released in early '07. Then I could have quite a bit of time to play DNF rather than just a couple months before college. It'd actually be sweet if 3DREALMS relesed Duke Nukem Forever on my BIRTHDAY...JANUARY 21ST... .

Hey, one can only hope. Then again, It would also be nice if DNF was done before the end of this year. Either way is good.
