Camping/rallying outside 3DR HQ?

With all these cloddish threads and posts that's been done lately, I thought I could contribute by making one of my own. Note though that this may appear more feasible than many other ideas.

Consider that Duke Nukem Forever is not released (or even shown) by for example E3 in June, and that you are getting steadily more and more pissed. What to do then? Well, as far as I see it perhaps it is time to start a rally outside either 3D Realms' headquarters in Garland, Texas (won't post address here since it got censored last time I did it) or Take-Two's headquarters in New York City.

This could induce following:

- A story for the news (ABC News, New York Times etc.)
- Sweaty lawyers
- Pressure on both parties to get the game done

I don't really know how to coordinate such a rally, but those living in Texas/New York and have some spare time in the summer, bring a tent, some burgers and some plates saying "Always bet on Duke", "When it's done" etc.

Otherwise, someone could perhaps put a sign close to the 3D Realms HQ, which says "Honk if you want Duke Nukem Forever to be released".

How exactly is this going to do anything positive? How will this affect the 3DRvTake2 trial positively? Don't you think 3DR would WANT to finish their game at this point?

It wouldn't do much good, so best not waste your time.

Well, this sounds reasonable. Though I haven't written this with very much seriousness. At the fullest, a sign with "Honk if you..." I think could be created. This was just a little thought I had, but if anyone actually did this I would find it interesting indeed.

Regarding the WANT: The point where DNF is in its development cycle seems to be heavily debatable, so I'll leave that topic.

DNF is dead. 3DR as an in house developer is dead. These forums should die. The only thing remaining is the Duke IP which should be sold at the earliest opportunity to the most respected company willing to buy who can actully treat it with the care and respect it deserves. 3DR should then pay T2 off and just quietly go away and never come back.

It wouldn't do much good, so best not waste your time.

If you could convince a few hundred people or more to do it, it would probably be a hell of a media event. There's no such thing as bad publicity.

I'm surprised this hasn't already been done. I would definitely support this as long as it was a peaceful assembly of Duke fans and no trouble was stirred up. I would even attend it if I could get there. However, I'm not quite sure protesting only one of the buildings would do that much good. A simultaneous rally at both Take2 and 3DR would be best.

P.S. I've got a couple of friends in New York who lives near Take2 HQ who are huge Duke fans. Hmmm...

This has bad idea written all over it:

1) This will get people arrested, not all gamers (if any) are athletic enough to out run the police. So they will get caught and sent to jail if one of the companies orders it which they probably will.

2) This will entice the media to give gamers another bad imagine. Press will have a field day over obssesed gamers picketing outside of a company.

3) Large groups of people (specially with some angry ones) is never a good thing. The angry ones will most likely start some shit which will bring us back to number 1 and 2.



How about start secret club, where you do meetings in person and wear similar shirts while talking about Duke or how to help 3DR in thier current situation. Rent a bar or some building and decorate it where you people could me once a month have fun and talk.
