Lost Planet Extreme Condition $4.99 = 75% off

Ice world shooter. hell of a deal. hated the final end boss but everything else was great. a bit of a console port, but the explosions are the best I have seen in any game.

This is a pretty solid port though, right? Since it's one of the first, if not the first, ports Capcom did in-house, instead of outsourcing it to crap studious like Source-Next, that gave us the shit-tastic ports of RE4, DMC3.
I think I'm gonna get this

Just bought it, the price was too good to pass up

Colonies is the same thing, but with some additional multiplayer stuff. I didn't get it as I didn't play multiplayer with this game in the first place.

The PC version of lost planet has 8 control mode styles to choose from for when playing with the keyboard and mouse. Be sure to choose the one that feels the best to play with at the start else you're going to hate the controls.

I think you can access the different styles from a drop down list when you open the options in game.

It's a good game, a lot of fun.

The controls can feel a bit laggy, and the game can be performance heavy at times... it's still a lot of fun. Actually, I haven't played it since I've updated my PC... maybe I should.

Try some of the other control styles, I think I may have played using Fixed 8.

That sounded wrong.

But not on steam. They want 44.99 EUR for the game, which is 1300 CZK while the retail version costs around 800 CZK (still too expensive for me )

So I'm joining the "Come on Mass Effect! Go on sale now!" group

AFAIK, they just converted the US$ prices in € at 1:1, people made a big fuss about it. If it's $20 for you, it should be 20 € here.

20 € is $25.29.

According to valutakurser.dk that is.

That's why everbody is so upset, europeans suddenly pay more than before. I don't care, I like paying less (greedy SOB that I am) but now I pay exactly the same prices that I pay at other retailers too. It was great as long as it lasted.

I believe he meant to say "if they converted 1:1...". I think it's apparent that is not the case. I don't believe it should be 1:1, it should go by the value of their currency compared to the US dollar... but when presented with problems like these, most people make compromises.

I'd say it's decent, nothing special, but fun enough to pay the current price, and it looks pretty too, if you have a machine capable of running it.

Is the aiming to sensitive? There are several modes to select from in the control menu, to the right of the movement controls. Try some of those out, see if that helps.

$5 well spent. No control issues for me except that the PC controls are a little retarded by default.

Danule: With a mouse I find the game is barely sensitive enough after you've turned it up the full way. Might perform different with a game pad. Not sure if the mouse sensitivity will adjust that too.

for some reason it doesn't like my game pad, which would make the game fun, using a mouse in a game like this is too easy and takes away from the difficulty.

Is Red Orchestra any good ? i cant find any decent video on youtube that shows how intense the fighting in this game is. can anyone recommend it or describe what it's like for me ? and most importantly, do people still play this ? i dont wanna end up playing against bots like in Frontlines fuel of war or UT3

People play it, but it's very different to your average online shooter. It's more paced, you can't just run guns blazing and kill 10 people that way. You need to use more brains and move wisely. Suffice to say, it's not arcade in anyway. It has ironsights I liked the gameplay, but then again it might not be the thing for everyone. Tank battles are most fun, but combat in cities are fun too. It features the only proper MG42 implementation in games, it's impressive sight to see when MG42 lays fire.

There is always people around, but the steeper learning curve might turn off some people.

Anyone else having these issues with Steam :

1) I download at a pitiful 100k/s instead of the usual 850.

2) Anytime a product is done downloading or updating, the Steam popup says "L4D has finished downloading". It's never the game I'm updating, always L4D.

Huh... strange.

More strange, it starts at 850k/s but then quickly goes down the toilet, regardless of the city selected. I disabled all background apps, deleted the blob file, rebooted... nothing. Even after more than 24 hours, it's still horribly slow.

Oh good, some change : it went from 100k/s to 50/ks.
