Re-release the classic games

Apogee/3DR should release classic games with re mastered versions

3DR/Apogee should release their classics like duke nukem 1, duke nukem 2, Wolfenstein 3d, blake stone, the catacomb abyss series and compatible level editors. They should also include remastered versions with better sound and graffics + more levels and weapons etc. to attract the younger games who value graffics sound and gore along with the vetren gamers who are in it for the play, fun and excitement.

Ah, Apogee didn't make/publish the Catacomb Abyss series.

id Software did. Infact, it wasn't even id then. Just John Carmack and some other guys from Softdisk (besides Tom Hall and John Romero). And Carmack only made one. The rest of the Catacomb series was made by other people for Softdisk.

Anyways, new games have a better chance of making more money than edzact remakes of oldies.

The Catacombs games aren't id, either. Those games were done by the same folks who started id Software, but by the technical letter of the law, they are not "id Software" games. They're Softdisk games.

The first id Software game was Commander Keen: Invasion of the Vorticons. Period.

I know they put them in the id Anthology, but they're still technically Softdisk games.

Anyway, regarding the first post in this thread.. I can't get them to let me release them as freeware (I've spent a lot of time trying). Getting them to update them will never EVER happen. You truly have a better chance of hell freezing over. Besides, most of the tools are lost, or are hoplessly buried on some disk somewhere in someone's closet at home (if the disk is even good anymore).

Also, a lot of editors for the early stuff was nothing more than a text editor.

...and Halloween Harry is by Way Knarly Games (or something like that. They changed their name from the original HH). I heard that they are releasing a HH3D though.

As far as I remember, the name Id Software is in Catacomb 3-D. Isn't it an Id Software game then?
