It must be a real invoice though, a normal reteil receipt is not so special to me either. The old ID/Apogee invoice was the coolest, with the "Thank you" at the bottom. I never saw one from Heretic so I am really curious what it looks like.

I hope I will have a mail order with invoice from the early Wolfenstein realeases (< 1.4) some day as well. Imagine a Wolf 3D v1.0 registered complete in the original envelop and with an invoice. That would be so bad-ass. Or maybe even a Wolf3D registered on 5.25" disks. I really wonder if such stuff still exists.

I also bought the Heretic shareware from izeewamot (the $50 one). I asked him to lower the price and he did ($35). It arrived this weekend but unfortunately it is far from the perfect state I expected. The other side of the box (not pictured) is faded by the sun and a small crush is present in the right top of the box. Each time I buy from a trader I get boxes that are slightly dissapointing. I still like the Heretic I got. The condition is still good and the seal in very nice. But I won't be buying from traders for a while.
My original Wolfenstein 3D I bought at WalMart on 3.5's... so nothing rare or desirable invoice for that one.
I will get a scan of the id Software Heretic invoice when I can... my printer here has a scanner, but the drivers were never installed, so no scan till I get those installed.

I had a lot of original stuff once upon a time... 50 to 75 boxed games I owned in the late 90’s. I was going to build a new shelf for my games to be displayed properly so I moved all my old games to the storage room behind the computer room. A limb fell on my roof and punctured it one day. I was away for a couple of weeks and didn't know of this roof damage... it rained for about a week during this time. The ceiling started holding water and the sheetrock (gypsum board) became saturated and along with the hundreds of pounds of water, it fell in completely on top of my game collection. I didn’t find this for another week or so and by the time I found the disaster all my games pretty much ruined. It was summer and was very hot so mold and mildew had ruined any of the game boxes that weren’t just plain crushed. I had only a few games still in the computer room... maybe a dozen no more than 20 I would say. Only the few games I had left sitting around the computer room were spared. I have a picture or two from the time that happened. Wolfenstein 3D, Heretic, DooM, Corridor 7, one Duke Nukem 3D, Quake and a few others I can’t remember are from my original collection. That was 98-99 I can’t remember now. Less my few originals, my total collection of 267 (unique, not duplicates) boxed 3D FPS’s has been obtained since then... probably as over-compensation to having lost so much. If I start listing the original game boxes lost I will probably CRY! Jill of the Jungle, Electro-Man, Halloween Harry, UltraBots, ScubaMan, One Must Fall 2097, Shell Shocked, Major Striker, tons of pre-3D Shareware... tears forming, must stop. I used to say that I owed more registered shareware than anyone I knew of. I don’t know a lot of people I suppose so that might be an exaggeration in a way, but I did register a lot and buy a LOT of boxed games back then.

Hey Iggy... do you want a Euro or US release of Shadow of the Serpent Riders?

Mr.BlackCat

Here is a shot of my old computer room around the time of the disaster/ roof collapse some time in the late 90's. Most of the games you see there were saved. Most of the games were in the storage room. The door to the storage room is on the back right of the room. Behind that door was the site of a game collectors worst nightmare.

Both actually. Thing is that I had a car accident last monday so money is bit of an issue for me at the moment. Getting tossed from left to right on the highway because a truck driver didn't see you and ending up crashing into the guardrail isn't pleasant just as seeing your precious 16 year old Audi getting severely damaged.

Edit;
- Lots of Doom games up for sale

MrBlackCat,

What an awful story! Luckily some of the best stuff survived. That computer room brings back some memories. I like those old DOS computers. The distinct sound of reading floppy disks and waiting for an install to finish before playing a new game..awesome!

Thanks for taking the effort of scanning the invoice, I'm anxious to see what it looks like.

Iggy,

I was watching that auction and hoped to win it. I really needed that Doom collectors edition. Unfortunately there where pewter figures involved. I hate those things. They tend to make Doom lots really expensive.

By the way, you got "my" Heretic comic and Hexen II flyer I see

Would you mind not qouting images that are right above your own post?

Also I know that people have been looking for this;
- Shadow Warrior - Shareware (boxed - new & sealed)

I'm looking for one as well but I also need a new car (Audi is busted, Lexus got stolen). I asked the seller for a Buy-It-Now price and I don't think you can get lower then 50 euro by the looks of the e-mails. I'm gonna let this one slip. Again.

eBay seller tazkane is selling the above shown games, they are new and sealed, anyone interested should contact her through eBay or e-mail her: ozrevoire [at] tpg [dot] com [dot] au. I was e-mailing her about a Duke3D item and I said I am a game collector so she asked me if me (or anyone else for that matter) would be intersted in the game boxes shown above. They are all Australian releases for as far as I know. For reference, I paid US$15,- for a similar Duke3D release (okay, so I bought twice of them so what?! HA!) so I don't think any buyer would be paying the main price for them.

Edit;
Asked price is indeed US$15,- for each title.

I am a collector my self from the Netherlands, I even remember selling omega my GT interactive Shareware Doom, at the time I wasn't really into shareware stuff but now I know more I need at least one copy of each to complete my Doom, Shadow Warrior and Heretic collection. (En hoeveel Doom items heb je nu al, omega?)

But I've been searching for Duke The Apocalypse 2 for some years now. Its funny since I seen them twice on Ebay but either I'm just too late or when its an auction, its 4:00 in the morning when its ends. So while I was sleeping and woke up the next day I thought "Ohh damn it" I got sniped! It was the most pristine box with t-shirt I've seen so far and It slipped through my hands. Next time I just put a max bid in there no-one want to go higher on.

I have the Duke Apocalypse original version since I got it for my birthday when I was a small Duke maniac. But only known about the blue one since a couple of years. But I guess like the East meets West it might never come into my possession since they are so rare.

Re: Anyone have some old Apogee and DOS games for sale/trade
Hi Remmke, nice to see you found this place as well. The more collector the better. The Doom you sold me is still one of the most obscure things I have. It's from a company called Zoom. Apart from the one I have now, I never saw another copy anywhere. I can't even find information about Zoom in general.

Apparently they also made Wolfenstein and Blake Stone. At one point Iggy offered Blake Stone but have not found Wolfenstein yet. That Zoom stuff is really rare. Where did you find that copy you sold me?

Well I need to index my Doom stuff again. I'm not sure how many copies I have now. I do have some new stuff but the things that I still need are the hardest to find so the progress is slow. Coincidentally I found the small GT box on ebay today, finally... Took me more than a year to find one. It's not in the best condition but I have wanted it for so long that I had to act on sight.

About Duke The Apacalypse 2: If you really want it, you should contact 3DShooterMaster. (See his post on the fist page) If I remember correctly he has a copy in almost perfect condition. If he still has it, he will probably sell it to you.

The Shareware products are becoming notoriously hard to find. I guess people just throw them out now rather than selling them. And when you find one, the price will not be pretty. You just have to wait and get lucky.

Hello Remmke

I am the one that snipe away your Duke The Apocalypse 2! Ok, maybe not, but I did get a couple from eBay... they went from England/Britian perhaps? If this is the one you saw, they were not in great condition as the images showed. I consider this a very hard to find for Duke Nukem 3D. I don't think it was released in the United States, where I am... every copy of Duke The Apocalypse 2 I have seen was from Europe. My best one is about an 8 of 10. I sold one last year actually.
It took me YEARS to get this game for my collection after I learned of it. I traded for my original one which was new... I traded some very rare items (non-Duke) to get it. I have bought them for about $75, $120, and $155 once for a new perfect one, which I ended up trading someone. The Blue color was an oddity in my opinion... so many Duke games are red and black based or at least darker. The cool blue color reminds of Duke Caribbean, which is the best add-on of the WizardWorks products in my opinion.
You should be able to find one over there somewhere though... I have never seen on sell from a US source other than my own sales.

You should be able to find a Heretic Shareware without too much trouble. I see them on eBay sometimes.

The Shadown Warrior shareware... that is going to be tough. I don't have one... yet.

East Meets West is hard to find as well. Good luck with that one too.

I hope you find them at a reasonable price.

Re: Anyone have some old Apogee and DOS games for sale/trade
Hi omega,

I found that copy when I was looking for a mint Depth of Doom box (I still remember staring at this box at Intertoys when I was a kid, played Doom while other kids were playing outside :P ). Just after a normal day I popped up Firefox and tried my luck at eBay. But at the time no sales for that one were up. So I tried my luck at Marktplaats - Sometimes you can be shocked how cheap people are selling their entire game collection here (record: 64 boxed games for like 40 eu). Anyway so I searched for Doom and the newest ad there was like a gift from heaven.

Depth of Doom, Doom strategy guide adn the Share Doom all in mint condition . Originally the price that guy asked was 30euro but there was someone else interested too so I offered him a nice price so I won. Sometimes I find it amazing what you can find there. Prolly the most amazing for at Markplaats was a mint sealed copy of the euro version of Blood for 10euro's :O. Quite amazing if you compare it now on ebay.

And about that The Apocalypse 2 auction, the box was as square as I could be and no visible wear was in the pictures. And yes all action were in the UK which also makes my happy since It will be cheaper to ship and no customs holding your item for a month .
The only prob since this year I think everything for UK that gets here is handled by SelectVracht and I tell you these are the biggest amateurs I've seen. They drive around in normal cars with stickers of SelectVracht on the sides and all packets are thrown in the back, so If the game in not packed good it gets dents all over. Oh yea and they feel like shipping them around when they feel like it. oh:

Thanks for your replies, and this topic helped me to see what other released Duke games there are which I didn't know about.

- Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition (USA release - with box) Dude ships internationally.
- Hexen for the MAC (boxed and sealed) Dirt cheap.

This Blood sealed box fetched a rather low price me thinks.

This old grandpa got also his share of popularity thanks to either his stupid photograph or his Kill-A-Ton cd's.

I paid almost € 250,- for a complete and utterly perfect iD Anthology (some items still sealed) about a year ago. It's the most expensive game I ever bought and I sure dont regret it.

Re: Anyone have some old Apogee and DOS games for sale/trade
I got mine for 175 dollars plus 40 euro because of the stupid tax thing. And because of that I had to wait 1 month when it arrived here so customs could check it out. Also the seller said it was complete but when I opened it only the t-shirt was missing (seller blamed the customs for that, there was a t-shirt on the pics he sent me but never could verify it was the actuall thing) The box and content however are in mint state. This was not a eBay and the last time I did that because waiting for 1+ month on something is very frustrating.

Today I received the Demon Gate and its indeed the sealed retail version in a very square box . No massive dents made during shipping and no tax to pay. Shipped two days later than a insured box and already arrived faster, so I guess the insured box that contains some rare games is now at customs, guess I have to keep some cash handy when the mailman arrives.

More to this story... while these did go to order cousin can not verify they were actually ever printed as the billing information that might verify this is long out of accounting. Maybe job was cancelled. But a box design did exist, so there is a slight possibility a few thousand were printed distributed. I had a couple of people tell me D!Zone 75 was never released either, but I have one and have seen several, but they are rare. There are two versions of D!Zone 2 – 1000 box. I still search for a boxed D!Zone 2 – 100 as they are one of my favorite lines.

Ok, yeah, I quoted myself... for this reason. The above has an error all the way through it! I meant to type D!Zone 2 - 150. There is no 100!
Everywhere the above says 100 it is supposed to say 150... and I can't go back and edit it. I can't belive no one caught that.

I have all the floppies for Math Rescue, Word Rescue, Epic's Heartlight and Ken's Lab, a level expansion for the ORIGINAL Duke Nukem, Jetpack, and some others boxed away somewhere. PM me if you're interested.
