Here's how I would have done it if I didn't have any game footage:
Faded nuke logo in background.
Duke Nukem trilogy falls back onto the nuke logo with an explosion sounding.
The 3 game names pop up around it, again with explosions.
Duke says something like "Come get some" or something which is not over used,
seeing this will only take 10-15 seconds and save money, they could get John St. John
to say something new.

First, it's great. It lets a whole lot more people know about vertexguy. Second, it's a joke. Third, IT'S NOT 3DREALMS as someone pointed out. It was made by a company that doesn't even have anything to do with the old apogee.

Why would a professional developer introduce the project its working on as a tip of the hat to a fan made video of another game by another company?

I felt so proud of myself when I found this trailer, and ran here to post it in the E3 thread. Then... I watched it. And felt dirty for posting it here.
