Best and worst level in Duke, and the reason for - Page 3

My favourites: Hollywood Meltdown, Red Light District, Fahrenheit
Worst: XXX-stacy and Pigsty (although it has cool reference to Terminator i find this level somewhat dull

Best level: Hollywood Holocaust

Reason: Because its so easy, and fun.

Worst Level: Anything from the 4th episode.

Reason: Just dont like them :S

The fourth episode, IMO is the best of all. They don't had much mercy to put LOTS of monsters and give us the Riot Tank and the Protector Drone. Bessides, Duke's Burger and Going Postal are some of the better levels of the game.

I can't believe I forgot 'The Backdoor' from Duke Nuclear Winter! That level sucked pretty badly :P

Best: Hollywood Holocaust.

I really liked this level, it was one of the best dukematch maps. Another thing I loved about this map was the interactivity, and the replayability. You could use on e route say, go through the backdoor, up the stairs then redkey then to arcade. Another route was grab rpg, blast through entrance, go through bathroom, red key, movietheatre, exit. Just so many ways to play it.

Hollywood Holocaust is one of my favorite levels of all time for just those reasons. There were all kinds of things to interact with, and most importantly the high level of replayability. HH is like a textbook of awesome level design. It's so good. Good like it should be common practice for dev studios to make the level designer new-hire sit down and recreate it the first few days on the job. The multiple routes, the secret areas, you just want to play it again and again. There are quite a few levels like that in the game, but Hollywood Holocaust really sticks out in my mind. Maybe I just played the demo too much before buying the game.
